Hi I want to share some pics of install of the Hillbilly-Motors-Motors-Motors-Motors Motors Racekit. It comes with the FAST intake, the Deep Thunder Exhaust and the TFI. I'm not a mechanical genius and the whole build took me about 3 days. But I had fun doing it and learned a lot. First I want to thank Jens from Hillbilly-Motors-Motors-Motors-Motors Motors for his help with the install and answering all my questions. Then I want to thank Stefan from SF-Bikeparts for his help. Last but not least a big thanks to the BadWeb and XBorg message boards, which provided me with more as enough information to do this build by myself. Last Tuesday i got finally my package from Germany. It was like Christmas. I opened it and unpacked everything, but there were no instructions. I ask Jens over e-mail which is the best way to install everything and he wrote me on the same day back. So I was ready to start. First I took all the upper bodywork off. Then it was time to take the spoiler and the exhaust off. After that I took the exhaust valve control unit out and replaced it with the module from SF-Bikeparts. It was already late but my spirit was still up so I took the Airbox out and installed the TFI and the FAST. I tried to follow Bud's instructions for taking out the headers without rotating the engine, but I couldn't get the top bolt out of the shock. It was to much frustration to continue. The next day I thought by loosening the bottom bolt and putting the back higher I could get the fan out and have access to the header bolts. It worked more or less. Because I had to buy the O2-sensor tool it took most of the day to remove the headers. After that I started to fit the pieces of the Deep Thunder headers together(after Jens' instructions). It was a pain in the A$$ to get right(took it more as once apart again). On the third day I finally got it right and started the final assembly. Minor setbacks like forgetting to put wires back to their right spot helped to let the assembly last till dawn. After it was done I pressed the starter button and surprisingly the XB came alive. The sound of the pipe let me forget the last 3 days of work and made my eger to go for a ride. My extended calibration ride let me smile over both ears. The exhaust sound is deep and loud, really loud (never heard a D&D or Drummer in real life, so can't and will compare). On the other side the FAST makes it own awesome sound. It is like being at a good Rock concert. I'm total hooked up to this music! The Deep Thunder comes with baffles, which should bring it in a normal sound level without losing to much power. To the HP gains. I have no numbers because I couldn't find a dyno for a reasonable price. Jens said it can bring up to 10 HP and I believe him. For sure the bike pulls now from idle to top without any hole(kind of like a very strong rubber band). I like it and I'm very happy with the result. My only problem is the setup of the TFI. Right now I use the recommend settings and it drives good. I have problems with popping on decal from high RPM( but it did it in stock trim too) and it takes like a second or so to accelerate with WOT from 3k RPM. It don't break down, only it takes a second till something happen. Thanks again to everybody who helped me directly or indirectly. Rene By the way I still have the "HSA Power Race" for sale. |

Hmmm, kind of looks like those core inserts might fit a Jardine..... |

If you don't mind me asking Rene, how much did this kit set you back, and what all was included? |

I ordered the complete FAST and the Deep Thunder Exhaust from Hillbilly-Motors, all together with UPS express shipping a little bit over 1600 Euros. It is not cheap, but on the other side it is a full titanium exhaust (5.8 kg) and perfect for my future plans(after warranty) to make it a XB14. The TFI is from ironmachine.com. You can buy the complete kit from Hillbilly-Motors too (1798 Euros minus 16 tax). Later today I'm making some sound clips of the exhaust. I have no possibility to host them, so if somebody can help me out I'm happy to post them. Rene |

Question: That's true dual. I read that true duals don't perform on the street as well as 2 into 1 pipes. I'll just wait till the dyno chart. |

@Devilbuell No Problem and Thanks @Mookie Thanks for the the offer, but I got yesterday some space by myself. I took yesterday some sound clips during driving but they are not so good. My mic is to good or the pipes and the FAST to loud, I have to much resonance! Today I will take some more with more distance to the bike. @Wheelsleaning Yes they are dual. The only connection is a interference pipe(see picture No 6). Because I have no accessible Dyno here, I only can talk about my "inbuilt dyno". Now if I accelerate hard from zero the front is in the air(only did that before than shifting hard into second). It feels like more power everywhere, I can go with 1500 rpm around a corner and then WOT and the bike just pushes forward with no hole and it feels much faster as before. In Germany are some people on the road with this pipe and I only heard positive things about it. Maybe Jens can give some more details to the pipe? Thanks Rene |

O.K. here are the sound clips. Sorry for the poor quality. This 3 I made during driving yesterday. The mic was clipped to the triple tree, wherefore you can hear the FAST more clearly. Files are between 1 and 2MB road1 road2 road3 I made this one today. The mic was about 3 meters behind the bike. Quality is also not the best, but this time You hear mostly the exhaust. standing1 Thanks Rene |
