I received a FAST intake kit for my XB9SX today. It came without instructions and I'm not certain about how to fit the stack in the throttle body. The stack comes with two allen screws which appear to fit some sort of mounting brackets to attach it to the TB but no brackets came with the kit. Before I go any further, I thought I would check here for any advice or instructions before I do anything else. I'm hoping that I received the right kit since I know that the TB for the 05 is a different setup from the earlier models. So can anyone who has actually installed this in their XB9SX provide a little help? Thanks! | ||

You probably got the wrong velocity stack (it´s for the pre05 models). Where did You get the FAST system? If it is directly from Jens/Hillbilly-Motors please send him an e-mail. He will be back an Monday from the race track to take care of it. Best regards Alex M-TeK Engineering | ||

I just got my FAST kit as well. The invoice says it's for a XB12. I have an XB9SX. This kit used a large outside clamp/band to hold the stack to the throttle body but also no instructions. I called and left a message for Jens. I took way too long to get to have it wrong but I guess it is what it is. | ||

Got my FAST (complete HBM Race kit) also last week. Also no instructions, but Jens helped me over e-mail (Thanks again Jens). How Ejiii said the clamp is to hold the stack to the TB. I have a XB12R and it holds perfect. I guess if the stack fits the TB of the XB9SX You should be fine. In the next days I will post some pictures of my build (FAST plus new Exhaust). Thanks Rene | ||

The throttle body on the 9 is a smaller diameter than the 12. I'm sure the clamp works great, I just don't want to take the time to install the stack if it's the wrong size. The thing looks easy to install so I'm not worried to have no instructions but how can you sell something and have no instructions. | ||

I can usually figure these things out with or without the instructions, but the stack I received is obviously the wrong one since there is no way that it will seat properly into the SX throttle body. Looks like another wait of a week or two before I'll be able to get the right stack. I'll just have to mount up the modified stock setup I've been running. | ||

Hi, 9SX (and all other 2005 Modells) and 12 is the same Kit. So from 2005 we deliver the Kit with the clamp. For 2004 and before we have the old style (throttlebody and manifold 2 pieces -with 2 allen screws)used on the XB 9 and we have the actueil style (1 piece throttlebody -with clamp) used on the XB 12 from the beginning. So on a XB 9 its always the question of the modelyear what system fits. So I promise to find the time to write the mounting instruction....(-: Meanwhile e-mail us please for support. Here's some basic instructions for fitting a F.A.S.T intake kit. If you have a XB12 (with the servo-motor) You will need to re-position it beneath the quilted thermal mat, and make sure it functions properly. I sure Jens will provide full instructions on request if you email him. F.A.S.T intake kit installation 1: Make sure your bike is on level ground, and is not going to topple over, remove the seat and the airbox cover. 2: Remove the airbox lid, and remove the air-filter element. 3: Undo the 4 x t27 torx bolts holding the airbox base plate to the frame. 4: carefully raise the base plate, taking care not to damage the air-temperature sensor, remove the airbox base plate completely. * The sensor assembly will either disconnect at the electrical connector or/and push through the rubber grommet. 5: Remove the OE rubber velocity stack (being carefully do to let any debris fall into the FI venturi opening). 6: Re-position / reconnect the air temperature sensor near the coil pack and cable-tie into position. 7: Install the CNC velocity stack and secure into position. You now have two options Either angle the two oil breather pipes so they face downwards and backwards Or Purchase 2 K&N crankcase oil breather filters, and piece two small holes in the thermal mat, attach the oil breather holes to the crankcase breather filters, so in effect you have 3 visible filters on top of the thermal mat. You can use either jubilee-clips or cable-ties to secure the 2 oil breathers. 8: Fit the thermal mat in to position, and secure using the OE t27 torx bits. 9: Fit the cylindrical K&N air-filter and secure using the jubilee clip supplied. 10: Re-fit the airbox cover and start the bike, do not rev the engine but follow the steps below…….. Ideally you will need to take your XB for a steady ride keeping the engine revs to 3,500-4,500rpm for at least 10-15mins or approx 10 miles. I recomend this so the XB’s ECM can re-adjust itself to make allowances for the F.A.S.T intake kit. Next time you start your bike up all should be correct! The TPS shouldn’t need any adjustment. Hopefully these instructions have been of some use ? I'm sure Jens will tell you if they are not! | ||
