I just had a....discussion with my brother over this. I have the 2003 XB9S and he just got the 2005 XB9S City. He is claiming that his bike has 20 more horsepower than my 2003. I told him that they're the same engine and I didn't agree with him. What do you guys think?? Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks, |

He has slightly different ECM maps, and a slightly larger throttle body, and a better flowing inner airbox lid. So he may be making 3 to 5 HP more if he is lucky. Race exhaust and filter might buy another 5 HP, again, if he is lucky. |

Go for a drag with him and see what happens? If you already have a K&N filter and his is bone stock they'll proly be the same, but it may get down to the rider. Be safe... |

A lot of work would be necessary to raise HP by 20 |

buellny: so your brother gets the horsepower, at least you got the brains in the family. |

thanks guys...I thought I was right but I wasn't sure if I was missing something. I have the D&D, race kit, the new air box with the dimple, and of course the snorkel removed. It runs great. I did notice a little power loss when I change from the buell race muffler to the D&D, but I love the sound of the D&D a lot....I guess "form" won out over "function" when it came to the muffler. later! |
