There is a short teaser up on the Buell site with the phrase "Own ALL the Corners". It doesn't show a bike but it shows it traveling down city streets, canyon roads and dirt roads. I think we're looking at some sort of SuperMotard bike. That would be pretty cool. The site says check back on the 23rd. |

Buell will be coming out with an adventure bike. In the same class as the KTM950 Adventure. Supposed to be really sweet and better than the KTM. Also The XB is supposed to have a 2" longer wheelbase. This is info I got from a guy I know in Europe who is involved with some Buell long lead stuff. We should know soon! BTW I really like my CityX! |

I've always said the XB's handle well on dirt, I hope they keep the 1200cc motor (pretty sure they will). Longer suspension and 2" on the wheelbase to go with it, sounds like a Buell dirt bike, if so, it will proly be one of the best handling big-bore street-registerable dirt bikes ever produced. I will be interested to see what they do about fuel capacity and belt protection (if anything at all). I really hope this is what they are going to release, maybe I bought that 1974 Bultaco Pursang just a little too early... I've been tempted by KTM's, looked at BMW's, Triumph Tiger, but a Buell?!! Who would have thought, I'd be a LOT more than tempted by a Buell dual-purpose, but also very reluctant to let go of the XB12, because it's so good. |

Super Motard? Yeh, thats it, it might be a heavyweight supermotard, a 1200cc megamotard. |

It's definatly a dual purpose bike that's coming by the looks of the intro video. I would be up for that. I saw an add for a MT-500 the other day I hope the Buell is better then the Harley attempt from a few years ago. Although, the handgaurds on the City-X are about as silly as the gunrack on the MT-500 |

The MT-500 was actually made by Armstrong, a UK manufacturer that H-D purchased. They offered the MT-500 as a NATO purpose motorcycle, hence the rifle holster & Rotax engine. Unfortunately, they were nixed in 2000. I dug it when it was around, and am kicking myself for not getting one when I had a chance. |

I doubt it would kill the 1200gs. BMW has been making and selling the GS bikes for a long time. They have a loyal market and a dependable bike. Having said that I still would give both a fair shot if I wanted a dual sportbike. I sure would want some great frame protection. Would suck if one bike drop resulted in a useless bent/leaking frame. |

I doubt if you could crash a XB hard enough to make it leak. Maybe if a rock punctured it? |

XBs are tough bikes. You'll enjoy this post if you haven't seen it already: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/4062/104487.html?1111675708 |

I agree Jinance. From experience, it is one tough mutha! My drive way is another good test for the XB's handling offroad. When you commin down Jim? Just had another webber last weekend(Twig) from Greensboro, ended up snapping my belt. Felt bad as we only got to ride about a 1/4 mile. |

Having seen the results of a couple of off road excursions and a couple of low to no speed tip overs involving xb's I have to agree that these bikes are tough. I have had several of japan inc.'s bikes and none have faired as well when things have gone less than perfectly. As always YMMV |

I agree Jinance LOL - Did you click on the link. It's the TWO story. Hope you get the bike fixed. I'd love to come down, just don't know exactly when. And if you are ever up this way, it would be great to have you here. |

If anyone can attest to how tough an XB it has to be Fullpower. I mean DAMN! Look at that pic. That bike has gone through hell and back!(and that's not a slam...it's a compliment!) I would think that the extreme conditions of Homer, Alaska would be a testament to the toughness of our beloved XB's... |

Fullpower-not me brother! I don't try to pick on other's modification's. To each their own, I mean it is THEIR bike right? The only thing I have seen that made think twice was the swept up exhaust that showed up on ebay, then again I kinda liked that. Sounds, eerrr, um, looks like you might be interested in a dual sport! How many miles you pushing now. |

only 14000 miles on my 12 now. i have been exceedingly busy both at work, and construction of my new facility. the framing, siding sheething and roofing were all done last month, i have been wiring( all in conduit), and plumbing ( all copper) should be moving the business in on the 22nd of the month,. then i can cut back to just 60 hours a week or so. so should be some nice long rides in the near future. |

Talked to the Buell Folks at the US MotoGP Race at Laguna Seca Sunday. I prodded all of them for info, but those Factory rep's are a pretty tight lipped bunch. the most I got out of them was... "I can't tell you what it is, but It's **kin bitchen. You'll want one." I hope he's right. Ivanski |
