I bought a used XB12R about 2 months ago with 1600 miles on it. I love the bike and am a convert from the I/4 Jap bike segment. I was wondering what the rule is on what I can expect to hear from my dealer if I talk to them about warranty. Does the factory 2 year warranty carry over to a new owner? Or am I just going to have to eat the cost on something that I feel should be covered by Buell. The frame slot that the seat tab fits into to hold the seat in place has broken, and I'd really hate to pay a dealer to weld this back together. By the way, thanks for having me and this is one sweet site. |

The warranty should carry over to the new owner. The dealership should be able to simply look up the vin # to see if the warranty is still in effect. As in all things, I'm sure some dealers are more willing to deal with warranty work than others. It is important to find a good dealer. One you like & trust. Cant beat the warranty. Just find yourself a good dealership. Get to know the mechanic, svc writer, management, it makes the process a lot easier. IMO Later J |

The factory warranty is essentially tied to the bike and not the owner. Your bike is covered for 24 months from the date of purchase regardless of who owns it. |
