I just got a Haulmark 6x12 trailer and was thinking of putting a large "BUELL/American Motorcycles" & Pegasus on the sides in vinyl stick ons. 1) Does Buell sell such a sticker? (probably not) 2) Is it legal for me to have a Badwebber sign business make it for me? 3) Would I need some kind of permission from Buell. 4) Am I an idiot for worrying about this? Seems like it would be good advertising in any case. |

I think if it's not for some kind of advertising, only for your own pleasure, there's no problem.... I'll go for choice #4 |

I wouldn't worry about it. The worst that would happen is you could get a cease and desist that would require you to remove them. I seriously doubt that would happen. You might run into a problem with whoever you have print them up. Some of those guys are really anal about printing trademarked logos. Here is a link to the Buell logos in pdf format. Your vinyl people should be able to blow them up to any size you need from this file. You can download it here... I asked Erik himself about this when I wanted some custom embroidered shirts made with the logo. The answer from him was that as long as you're not using the logo to make a profit, it's not a problem. So if you get the logo and have somebody make it up for your personal use, then it's fine. Just don't have extras made and sell them. Paying someone to make it for you is fine because you're paying them for the work, not the logo or the copyright. |

if some fat biker broad can tattoo the Harley logo on her butt, you should be able to label the trailer |

What about the "Buell Racing" decals/vinyls that I see on many of the racers? Though I'm not track racer, I would like to promote Buell Racing. |

Bones, Do what you want. Don't worry about it. A lot of guys on here will tell you otherwise, like when I tried to get some people together for some big buell patches to be made. Forget what other people say, do what you want. Sherm |

Listen to Sherm. I have a pretty big Yamaha tuning fork logo on the rear door of my trailer...not too worried about it either. |

The problem begins if you start to represent yourself as a Buell representative and start using the Buell logo to make money. EDIT: However, the person who makes and sells the BUELL product may be liable for trademark violations, and come to think of it you could also be in trouble for purchasing the counterfeit product.
