Check out MRE air shifters or the new onew being made under Pingel's own name. You can view them at: http://www.pingelonline.com/ Not sure if the link below will work but here are the electrict up-down shifters for sportsters too! https://shop.pingelonline.com/iwwidb.pvx?;multi_item_submit If it doesn't work, browse their catalog for shifter kits, then scroll down and select 'All Electric' - should find them there. |

I put a triptronic (aviation grade high speed linear actuator) electric shifter on my bike. It has the advantage of shifting up and down with the push of a button. Also no need to fill an air bottle or run a compressor. http://www.translogicuk.co.uk/ps4.htm They are pricey, but once you have it set up properly all hassles are over. |

"all hassles are over" until you have to remove all the schrapnel from what was formerly your transmission case.......... |

Why would your tranny detonate? all it does is move your shift lever through a 9 cm (I think) range of motion just like your foot does. There is no reason that it should damage any part of the motorcycle. It even unloads the tranny to shift. I HAVE to have one to ride (see my profile) It is no different from shifting normally on down shifts and is actually smoother than manual on up shifts. It cuts spark momentarily to unload the tranny during upshifts if you choose to keep the throttle wide open. You can detonate the tranny quite easily without an auto shifter as well, if you don't use your head. |

On my 916 I use a Techtronics Quick Shifter, same as used by many Moto GP and Super Bike race teams, and it's bloody awesome. It's also the difference in keeping up with the coat tails of modern superbikes when yanking the throttle to the stop. No backing off the throttle. Just keep it pegged wide and touch the gear shifter with your foot and watch the bike in front (if there is one) lose ground. Rocket |
