Well, I've been using the Norris Performance catch can for a couple weeks now and here's the scoop... The first thing I noticed about it is that the finishing wrt the machine work is very good. There is a bit of a VERY light texture to it that IMO is very clean and just plain good looking. It's hard to see in pictures... The next thing I noticed while installing it is that Mike got the machining design down to a freakin' "T"... It's perfect. Every fitting is both tightened down the right amount AND pointing exactly where it needs to be pointed. VERY nice. It makes things easier for the guy installing it I'll tell you that. No removing/re-installing fittings trying to get them to point the right way using washers or whatever... It just works correctly right out of the box. I'm not just talking about the hose fittings from the breathers or out to the filter either... There's a fitting at the bottom to facilitate drainage... This one has about a 45 degree range that you can use to access it with a small rod of some sort. When installed and closed, this petcock (for lack of the proper term  ) is pointing in exactly the right direction. I swear, attention to detail is there and it's done right everywhere. I know it's a small piece, but it's both impressive and re-assuring to know that someone went the distance when drafting this little baby up. As far as functionality... It certainly works. Every week I get about a bottle cap full of a watery/oily fluid out of the can. One more thing to note... The petcock is positioned so that the catch can, when drained, will not drain on the bike... Again... VERY nice  . No leaks what so ever so far. I didn't really feel much of a power increase due to getting the breathers out of my airbox, but I could tell my AFV needed to adjust so it certainly did SOMETHING... It's very nice to open up my airbox and see CLEAN!! No oily residue anymore... Now I just need to clean up my damn throttle plate/body, intake manifold/ports/valves.... Freakin' EPA... All in all, the catch can from Norris Performance is well worth the price. There are other solutions, but this one is just plain nice and IMO the best one for the XB. Installation took probably 45 minutes, but I had no directions . I'll take some digital pics and write up some install directions pretty soon and post them to this thread. It's very simple once you figure out how to route each tube... I took the two breather tubes and tee'd them just behind and to the left of the throttle body (I'll get pics ). From there, I ran that tube down to the catch can between the frame and the front head. It's a little tricky to find a place that doesn't interfere with anything else... As we know, the XB's are pretty compact . The breather tube that goes to the filter runs back up through the same area and the filter sits just under the lower airbox and to the left of the throttle. There doesn't seem to be any way that the filter can cause interference wrt the throttle (which is actually why I put it on that side). Again... I'll get some pics. It all works out very slick (mostly due to the PERFECT installed angles of the fittings) and just plain works. Kudo's to Mike Norris. Great product. If anyone has any questions at all just ask . | ||

No, I got the finely brushed one... It looks like a cross between polished and brushed aluminum. It matches my Force header and chin spoiler spikes pretty well . | ||

M1combat, do you ride every day? That seems like a lot of blow by for just a week. I suppose you are also watching your oil levels closely as a result? | ||

Yes... The main reason I got so much so far is because after I installed the catch can I changed my oil. Before I changed my oil I washed my funnel in HOT water... I couldn't get ALL the water out (most of it though) and I knew that when the engine heated up I it would vaporize the water and it would make it's way to the catch can. I'm sure that most of the two cap fulls I've gotten so far have been that bit of water. BTW... I'm talking very small bottle caps. MAYBE a teaspoon total but probably less than that. From last Sunday to this Sunday... Probably 5-600 miles. | ||

Thanks M1 I'm sorry, I've been working long hours and have not stayed up to date on the BadWeb or e-mails. Catch cans got delayed, due to the Hooters chopper. I will start machining them at the end of the week. Thanks for all the support and interest. | ||

I get way more than a teaspoon full of water out of my can after a week of commuting. I live on the coast in Southern California. We get a pretty good marine layer in the mornings. I also work a 6:00am shift so I'm rolling out at 5:30am. Not sure if the water is from weather conditions or the short hop commute. Anyway, the water and snot is pretty ugly. | ||
