I'm ready to shoot a new color on my 12R but I need to remove the headlight bezels first... What is the technique used to remove them intact?

Be careful!!! I broke both of them!!! Hindsight, I would get a hair dryer, and heat them up. They are held on there by strips of double sided tape. Good Luck!!

I will almost bet you will break them, in the process of removing them.

Save yourself the trouble...

1) Get a big hammer
2) *Smash* the hell out of them
3) Order new parts from one of the sponsors

This way instead of wasting time "trying" taking something out that is more than likely going to break anyway. You can relieve stress, and get the c/f replacements that you want...

Even if you are really careful, they are likely to break. They are very brittle. However, if you do break them they do go back together well with super glue.

I just had the feeling I was gonna need the new ones! Just thought I would ask those who have destroyed before me!

They can be taken out without being broken. Had I known they were held in with double sided tape, I could have taken them out in one piece. I only broke one before I figured out how. Super glue does quite well. You just have to sand the glued part lightly to get no lines under the paint. I painted mine with rattle can orange to match the letters on the airbox, and it has held up quite nicely.

Yeah I tried to take mine off just to shoot them with gloss black to match the windshield. Broke one and gave up. I'm gonna get the c/f ones now.
