Just a few images of a XB9R that's being put together here in the Southern UK. It's hard these's days to come up with original ideas, as most modifications to the XB R/S have already been done before. Speaking with the Buell mechanic who putting the bike together for a customer the idea is a pro-street look. A 6"(150mm) over swinging-arm, holding a 8.5" rim with a 240/40/18 tyre. The bike will feature a 1-off under-seat exhaust system. The the Bolt will be lowered by approx 2"(50mm) Then finished off with either a polished frame/dark paint scheme or carbon-fibre. The bike will run a chain conversion to cope with the extra wheelbase. No mention of any engine modifications. I look forward to seeing the finished project, and hopefully some more images. The OE 6" extended swinging-arm The 8.5" aftermarket rim & 240/40/18 Tyre. A long way to go to the finish, but at least you'll get some idea of the overall look. The bike was attracting loads of interest at a Motorcycle show yesterday, where it was featured on a HD/Buell stand.

Well, considering the bike is being set up for pro street, I think it is cool. I would definately need a polished frame and swingarm to match the rims. But the real question is will it have the power? I think you should contact Revolution Performance and look into their 90" XB12 motor package. Don't make it all show and no go! |

So... How does it move? No belt or chain. |

Eeewww. I really don't like the swingarm, just dosn't look right with the gap in front of the tire. |

Not good at all... You'll need a stiffer spring as well... |

Cataract, as you can tell by the original posting the Bolt is "work in progress" it's like it in the images because it was used as a demo a Motorcycle show last weekend to give prospective customers a chance to see what is possible.... Sure it's not to everyone taste, but it is different! I't doesn't belong to me, but I think the idea has potential. Koz, I've had many a chat with Brian @ Revolution, always found him to be very helpful and honest. |

Maybe it would look better if it was done "all the way." Change back to under-engine exhaust, but with 2 1/2" downpipes and a "glasspack" side exhaust, like the roadracing bikes. Then, drop the front in the triple clamps about 2", and re-spring the forks for another inch. Then drop the back with a shorter shock, or even a strut. Maybe add a new seat unit, like the S&S buell. If you had the muffler about 3" above deck, that might look cool. |

I like it!!! The extended swing arm is a "must have" for Pro street. Dunno if all the folks here know what "pro-street" is. It's just not a look. It's drag racing class. The extended swing arm serves a purpose for drag racing and although made to be aesthetically pleasing as possible, it's number one purpose is control. I like the way this one was done. It keeps the original design intent and added function. I'd love to see the finished product. Anybody see the Englishtown drag races on ESPN yesterday? The Suzuki riders are now complaining that they can't compete with the American V-twin drag racers. |

Just curious, what is the air cooled V-twin displacement handicap in NHRA? I am just assuming there is one. For years the air cooled four-bangers were the way to go because you got so much more engine size to play with. I think the manufacturers finally put a stop to that so they could sell on Monday. Good way to try to get more brands in, and a bigger fan base. |

Here's a high mount from a couple of years back... Looks like it may be a one of a kind. Here's where I found the pic. http://www.sportbikerider.us/index.cfm?fuseaction=displayit&Picture_ID=33684 |

As far as the Pro-street 9R goes...I personally would be happier carving canyons. But it has some real potential if it gets a drag-worthy motor. I would love to watch it run. |

Anybody see the Englishtown drag races on ESPN yesterday? The Suzuki riders are now complaining that they can't compete with the American V-twin drag racers. I watched it too. The suzook rider was pretty lucky to only end up with a broken hand and foot after that 150+mph spill. He crashed with grace. On a different subject though, I think the above statement is bogus since a suzuki rider beat another suzuki rider in the final round. The way I see it is if these guys keep saying they can't beat the twins, I guess they should consider another steed for next season. Perhaps a v twin? But the truth is there has been six races and six different winners...I don't see any domination there. |
