I was wondering if anyone has used the Nallin exhaust system? I see that they offer a ForceFire EFI module. Is it like a Techlusion box, or is it a real ECM?

Are they PCII's from K&N? Are they the "X1" model? If so, they are actually PCIII's...

Or so Dyno-Jet says...

PCIII modules from K&N and all the Buell models will work on any fuel injected model. Even the XB's.

You missed my point...

Many of the PCIII's sold through K&N are actually badged as PCII's.

If a unit is sold for an X1 AND is badged/boxed by K&N AND is badged as a PCII... It's actually a PCIII.

Or so Dyno-Jet says...

I have a "PCII" that is the model number for an X1. I called Dyno-Jet to figure out if it was a II or III. They informed me that K&N badged a lot of PCIII's as PCII's. As long as it's the right model number for an X1, it's a PCIII... No matter whether the box or top of the device says PCII or not, it's a PCIII.

I was just trying to clarify because when I got the box I was a tad dejected because I know that the PCIII is the box to use with a Buell. My box and my power commander says PCII, but has the part number for an X1... I called DJ and they informed me of the box/power commander device cover snafu created by K&N...

You are right! It is in fact a PCIII badged by K&N.

M1,
I have been here on Bad Web for a good while, but don't post much because the info I need is in the archives. I know you have run the TFI with little or no success. Have you had better results with the Power Commander? I am in pretty much in the same boat when it comes to tuning. I can't stand the "misfire" I have at 3000RPM.

Not only are the K&N branded PCII's actually PCIII's, but both the X1 model and the S3 model are the same - they just have different length cables. The K&N models just put an 80 in front of the DynoJet's model number. They didn't make a PCII for the FI Buells.

Thanks to e-bay I just got my Power Commander for $100. I saw another one today that was at $10, no reserve.

I think most can get away with a TFI (properly tuned, of course). Force pipes just have such variations of air flow at different RPM's that the PC is required to really get it smooth.

Brewtus... Sorry for the late response. I haven't installed the PCIII yet, but I will soon. I just talked to my Dyno guy and he thinks he can get me in after this weekend.

Thanks to crusin, I just scored a PCII with the oxygen sensor, but am kind of worried about adjusting. What do you guys think about the maps offered at the Power Commander web site? Maybe try one and go from there?

the maps there are no good for the xb. you should be able to find someone to dyno tune it for about $250. don't waste time around with it, just get it done right.

I have a power commander map for the 9 with the new force pipe. Someone here gave me a map but it was way too lean, really had to fatten it up. Runs much better now.

Johnk3 - could you e-mail that map to me? This goes for anybody else - if you have maps for the XB's I'd like to create a library of them. E-mail them to maps @ vthills.com and I'll post them on my site. Include details about what mods you've done, and I'll put them up for others to download.

Can any of the power commanders adjust the ignition curve on a 2003 XB9R?

The answer is no it cannot. The Powercommander for the Buell models have no adjustment for ignition available only fuel map.

Is the power commander better than the race ecm. I know that it has more options as far as remapping when you put on new upgrades but what if i do not know a dyno anywhere around me. Would be it easier to stick with the race ecm and not have to worry about the tuning of the power commander. Thanks for the help

Does the XB bikes have any problems with the PowerCommanders? I know that some X1 guys and I think my bike as well, does not function well with the PC. It was described as "not shaking hands"

None
Stick with the stock or race ecm.
Less hassle all around.
