I'm in the market for a Buell s3, x1, or if the deal is great an xb. From what I've read the short XB with saddle bags doesn't allow for a passanger. The Wife and I used to ride my BMW R1100sa to school and the saddle bags made this possible. Has anybody tackled this problem? |

Wait until the middle of July and re-ask the question. There may not be an answer, or maybe there will be. In the mean time your best option is to test sit an XB, both of you on the bike, at any nearby dealership (without a general location in your profile it's impossible to recommend one). The both of you should know immediately upon sitting on one if it will work out or not. If it's a "maybe" then ask for a test ride. The BMW, the S3, the X1, and the XB are four different animals, the S3 is probably the closest to the BMW. |

IMHO, just say no to 2-up riding on an XB. |

2-up is fine depending on you and your passengers physical builds. 2-up with saddlebags is not impossible, but the weight distribution now makes the bike very tail happy since you have now added weight behind the centerline of the wheel. |

Factory bags on the XB*S make it impossible to carry a passenger. You could buy one of the racks that American Sport Bike sells and stick that on the back w/o saddlebags and still carry a passenger though. You would do well to at least wait and see what will come out in July...everybody wants a Sport Tourer and Buell is rumoured to be releasing a slightly bigger version of the XB this summer. It may be a bagger, it may just be bigger, it may just be a big ballon of hot air! We shall see! |

No way would I wait for a new sport tour buell and pay full price. This is what I love about bikes wait a few years and you can get the same bike with mods for 50% less! I'll start a new thread on the new XB touring. I've a line on a 03Firebolt with force muffler for less than 5500 or an stock 02 S3t with saddlebags for the same price. Both killer deals. The firebolt requires tail bag or saddlebags and the S3t requires louder exhaust. thanks for the help.. |

i am 5'9'' 130 lbs, my wife is 5'4'' 115 lbs. we ride 2 up on my xb9sx. only thing we had to get was the corbin gunfighter seat. its not exactly the comfort ride for her, but it is doable. we ride 2 hr rides mainly, with not much fatigue. we are small people though. |

o4 firebolt, buell saddle bags, I'm 6-1 215, wife 5-4 135, we ride two up almost all the time, she loves it. I never had a tail weight issue, or handling problem. Just set the suspension for max weight, load up and ride |
