I am looking to trade in my current race bike, a SV650, at the end of the season and start racing a Buell next season. I have looked on a lot of the national racing websites but don't see any race ready Buell's for sale. Is there anyone out there that can give me some advice on hunting down a XB9R race ready? I am not opposed to starting with a totaled bike and making it race ready but that seems to always be more work and money than I would like. In addition does anyone have any comparison information between the typical Supertwins GTU/Lightweight Superbike bikes (SV650, Duc 748, 250's...) and the Buells? Thanks Dale |

My old teammate has a Buell 9R ready to go. Chain conversion, suspension, just needs motor work if you planned on beefin it up a bit. Great bike has really low miles.. Let me know if you would like some pictures and price on it? Brad www.pushrodracing.com |

Just ran my first CCS race weekend on an XB9R- Lightweight Superbike- 5th (1st ever race on the Buell- rode two morning races on my EX-500, took a few laps to get up to speed). Lightweight GP- 3rd Thunderbike- 2nd ($200 contingency money, thanks Buell!) The bike is 2003, stock suspension, Nissan front brake pads (huge improvement), Buell Race Exhaust and ECM, and Michelin slicks. The suspension left a lot to be desired as I weigh 205 and with the correct race sag dialed in I had no preload left on in the front forks, and really needed a touch more. Penske shock on the way, and forks to be reworked in the next few weeks. These results were against mostly SV's. |
