I just changed the bars on my XB9S and the throttle sticks when the bars are at full left lock and gets progressively worse as you get close to the full left position. It looks like the cables get pinched between the left fork and the frame, which is factory routing. I remember a post where someone cut some metal off of an R model where it hit the cable, but couldn't find it in a search, and don't see anything similar touching my cables on the S. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott | ||

I looked behind the fly screen, and it looks like the cables get forced into a bit of a kink where they go through the plastic clamp near the steering head. I tried a few different routings without any luck. I'll have more time tomorrow, but at this point I'm not sure if it is binding at the clamp on the steering head or between the fork and the frame. | ||

Might want to check the tightness you have them set at. I found that if I tightened the cables to much it would stick. Try that first before you reroute them. | ||

Got it! 3 hours of suffering and I figured it out. The "S" bend in the throttle cables under the fly screen tightens up as the bars go right. Nothing you can do without longer cables. I just bypassed the clamp on the steering head that holds the wiring harness and the two throttle cables. Now the cables only have to bend down instead of right then left behind the fly screen. I think the routing will be rub free, but will keep checking to make sure. Works great. Sam Mig. told me I'd probably have to ditch the factory routing, and he was right. | ||
