I love the looks of my 03 XB9S. I have several bikes, an 04 Ducati ST4S, an 03 MotoGuzzi LeMans, an 01 CBR929RR (EE), and a 00 Aprilia Pegaso (commuter), but my 03 XB9S is the most unusual and "futuristic" looking of the bunch. I know it is based on the same Sportster motor that has been around since, what, 1957?, but it still looks like a bike you'd see in a SF movie set sometime in the near future. Just an observation... I looked at most of the bike you own and chose the XB9S as the most unique and the "one". It is a fine looking machine. DBird |

I still love looking at my bike, then the urge to ride takes over! |

I agree. Though that Le Mans is a looker IMO as well! |

Yes. I think the 03 LeMans is a good looking bike too. It gets the same "looks" and questions by motorcyclists and non-motorcyclists as my Buell. When I ride the CBR929RR, it's more like "Oh. One of those. Saw 20 of them this morning already." The XB9S looks great, just sitting in the garage.. Tim |

This is going to sound terrible but I find myself oogling my bike more than my girlfriend. I just can't help myself. The 12S is just down right mesmerizing. |

Well, I' ve been married long enough and I'm old enough that my wife sometimes says "Why don't you go out in the garage with your bikes!" ================================================= Mine says to go out to the shed and visit with your other wife!! Can't help it she looks so darn sexy. The XB platform has curves, attitude, a mysterious draw, and then you start her up!! |

I learned how to lovingly annoy my wife so she pretty much throws me out of the house. "Why don't you go do something? You're bugging me." she says. What better excuse to jump on the bike and go. |

Charlie. Can you really consider passive aggression a loving annoyance? |

I've found nobody knows what to make of the XB's. I won Best Harley Sport Custom Runner-Up in a bike show a few weeks ago. They couldn't figure out what category to put us in (my brother's 12R and buddy's 9R). I can't help wondering what the judges were thinking. "Is this a Harley? It's definitely a Harley engine. Maybe they built the frame custom." I was pretty shocked. Anyway, that's one of my biggest draws to the XB. It's like no other bike out there. However, I have been seeing more pop up lately. I saw a Blast in my neighborhood today and saw a 12R a few weeks back. |

Daveinm, I bet that pissed off a bunch of HD people there. Heck, if you won that I would love to see how my XB9SX would do. They'd be blown away. Heck, people around here are. They want to know where I got the plastic that you can see through from. It's fun to tell them it comes stock. |

Yeah, it was pretty crazy. The bike that won was completely custom. Must have had at least $20K into it. I'm gonna start entering more shows. I think for now we have a huge advantage being that even the judges don't know what they are. Probably get big point for being unique. Seems like that's what all the chopper guys are trying to do all the time. I'm tempted to take the Buell label off the airbox just to make it even harder to figure out what it is. People ask me if it's a custom bike all the time. We all know the yes/no answer to that question. Here's my bike the day after: And here's the plaque:

I'm torn between three Buells. I just rebuilt the engine on my S3 and I'm in love with riding it again. Than I look at my XB9R and want to ride it, same feeling with my 98 S1. Now I look at this XB lightning above and want one of them also. I just will not be happy until I have a Westwind, S2 T-bolt and a City X........
