Has anybody had any success using a VDSTS scan tool? I plan on buying a race ecm for my xb12r and I'll need to zero out my TPS as well as using it for other future things. Basically it hooks up to your laptop or Palm tool, and you can trouble shoot things yourself. |

I just purchased the VDSTS and it will not connect to my ECM. Tried on two different latptops and two different pc. Even tried with the latest software revision. Could be a bike issues or bad cable. Purchase it from Dave S. he will give you a good deal. I did some troublshooting with the Manufac, he said mail it to them and they will mail another back the next day. So customer service is good so far. |

I too had a problem initially with the VDSTS. Technoresearch were great though and resolved the problem within a matter of days. The software works as advertised and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I'm using two versions; the latest for PC (2.75-G) and 2.26-16D for an old Palm VIIx (which I can carry in my tank bag). The older Palm version doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it will let you see and clear error codes, set the TPS, display throttle degree, idle speed, battery voltage, test injectors, fuel pump, coils, etc. A neat product. |

Sometimes, the connection problem is with your computer setting. Try setting serial port to other than comm 1 (default in VDSTS). Or check your computer to see if the serial port is comm 1. |
