Does anyone know if you can run the stock exhaust with the race ECM? Will the bike run correctly? My 12R is currently in the shop for transmission work, and I'm thinking I may have them install the Race ECM and reset the TPS. That will allow me to install an aftermarket exhaust. |

The 12 is a little more complicated due to the exhaust valve, but on my 9sx I have dynos for before and after race ECM with stock exhaust. It ran well both ways, and just the race ECM alone (with stock exhaust) picked up a couple horsepower up top. It would probably be a step backwards on a 12 though, that exhaust valve is hard to beat. If I had one on my 9, I would be running a stock pipe right now. |

Donut - if you're looking to go aftermarket and want the race ECM have them put it in, then do the TPS reset. Then have them take it out, put the stock back in, and have them give you the race ECM. The race ECM will not actuate the valve and you won't get the performance you want. However the TPS reset won't have to be done again so when you go to put the aftermarket exhaust on you can do the race ECM at the same time yourself. |
