anyone know how to change the ecm to run say 1000 rpm higher? now i understand just doing that will not necessarily allow engine to generate more hp at that level & that heavy reciprocating parts will impede faster revving. what i want to know is if there is a module (as i understand its not tweakable) other than the xb9-oriented factory race kit, that allows remapping of curves along w/ incresed rev range?! thanks for any assistance, paul. |

Not that I know of , but with the long stroke of the 12's there is very high piston speeds at redline. Probably not a good Idea to go any higher. |

If it's not a race engine that will be rebuilt often, this would "probably" cause more harm than good. That said, I plan on putting an XB9 ECM in my twelve at some point (probably just before I rebuild it) to see if it's possible, and see if spending the money to allow the engine to survive at those RPM's is even worth it. The "true" race ECM is probably what would suit your needs the best, but you need a race license to get one... |

good point re: piston speed .. forgot, but u r right. as fr getting a race license .. it IS on my 1-2 yr plan! i think i'll ride the bike until it bores me, then invest in the full race works. i just HAVE to eventually try the 3.812 bore x 3.6 stroke .. |
