I was wondering why the XBR is not offered in a low model like the XBSL. In racing, don't you want to try and lower your center of gravity? Wouldn't a lower ride height contribute towards that end? Does the lower height of the XBSL reduce the amount of lean you can take into a corner or is the suspension simply not firm enough or offer enough travel? |

The low model is for shorter people not necessarily for handling performance. In fact for Road racing having a ride height adjustable rear shock is important. Usually an increase of rear ride height is neccessary to shift more weight on the front wheel. |

The low would lose lean angle clearance. A low with adjustable rear ride height might work... |

The hight is VERY important, look at the various nascar races. On the LONG straight aways they need to be Very close to the ground and are even biased to the turn side (higher on the outside) on the short courses with lots of turns (sears point etc, they are a little higher for suspension movement. The more your suspension is working the better it is IE longer shocks and forks. It is best to keep a low center of gravity but not at the expense of suspension travel. |
