Got a new Canon digicam and I'm just learning how to post pics...sorry. '01 VW Jetta 1.8T (extremely modified) and '04 VW Touareg V6 (stock, so far...), and my '04 XB12S (also very modified - with all this German machinery, I had to have an American bike!). Blake and Keith will remember the "wunderwagen" from the DFW BBQ-n-Beer Bash with Erik in January.

Full story on my Jetta is here: http://www.parts4vws.com/registry/registry_detail.asp?MemberCarID=1878 Never dyno'd, but numbers at the crank are estimated to be around 225-235 hp and 260-275 tq (the 93 octane APR chip alone is good for 198 hp and 240 tq on a otherwise stock AWW engine). |

Haven't had the Touareg long enough to tell - bought it used from Carmax with 12k miles. I get great local service from our dealer (Boardwalk in Richardson, TX). The T'reg is my fourth VW in 6 years - my wife's '99 Passat 1.8T (my son's car now, with over 165k miles and no problems), my Jetta (replaced clutch under warranty at 42k miles), my daughter's '03 Beetle (totalled when a drunk driver turned left in front of her - she was going 50 and didn't get a scratch), and now the '04 T'reg. I grew up in the VW/Porsche/Audi business - my dad was the dealer in OKC - so I know my way around a sales and/or service department. |

I wouldn't mind owning a V.W. if the turbo diesel models were easier to get in California. Too much bureaucratic B.S. |

What is it with Buell owners and VW's. I've only driven VW's. These are my cars in order from first to current... '69 VW Bug- Total Chick magnet '82 VW Rabbit GTI- Snappy little bugger '84 VW Scirocco- Tricked out silver looked like a Delorian '95 VW Golf GTI- Good college car and sound system '99 VW Jetta VR6- Smooth and powerful. Soon ready to depart with it. 97,000 miles and no major problems...great car! Oh thats my Chocolate Lab, Cota- 5 years old and loves tennis balls and my Buell. He can hear me coming a quarter mile away and waits for me. |

When it comes to cars, you can't beat German engineering. So if you don't want to spend too much or can't afford a BMW, Audi, Mercedes, or Porsche, get a VW. My opinion is that you get the best bang for your buck with a VW. |
