Looks like an adaptation of the Ducati Swingarm from the 916-998 era |

RAM is an acronym for Roberto A. Marchesini. RAM is an offshoot company by the owner of Marchesini. The OE standard wheels on the early tube framed Buell's were Marchesini. 1313 |

WOW that is ONE slick bike! I Like my Hawk GT for its single swing arm and twin cylinders. |

That is really nice, especially combined with the front rotors. I wonder how it affects frame rigidity though? Ducati frames are designed to take the load of a single sided swingarm. xbolt12 |

The rigidity is created through the connection to the crankcase not the frame. As I'm sure Pete will tell you, the RAM arm is just about identical to the 916 arm, using the same hub \ chain adjustment components etc though it is cast the other way up. 13, I never heard that before with regard to the acronym but I thought RAM was abbreviated of something 'Monaco'??? nice one. I think its probably a case of no one has really approached them yet for one to be designed for the XB's since they manufacture those swingarms in house and aren't adaptions of anyone elses. |

If you put it on an XB you could only hold half the oil |

Not really, its just the oiltank would be shifted from center to the rightside in stead of from center to the left with the belt running over the top of the tank. |

1313, Not disputing you, but I always thought it stood for Race Applications Monaco. Also curious, is that besides Marchesini, they also sell Oz Racing and BST wheels as well. |

That'll teach an Engineer to take stock in what a Purchaser says... I can't find anything to back up what was relayed to me. Years back, during a visit Mr. Marchesini paid to Buell I remember being told said information. To punish myself for typing something I can't back up, I am going to force myself to eat spaghetti and pesto sauce for my supper every night this week. Sorry to misinform, 1313 |
