uh...and so it happened...i put my bike on the side stand in the garage only to find out after i'd turned around that i didn't have the side stand all the way down...luckily the bars were locked and no damage to the bike...however, i noticed about an hour later a few drops of oil under the shifter...closer inspection revealed that it was seeping from around the little round cover in the center of the primary cover just above the shifter...the bike was on it's side for maybe 60 secs...I see no visible signs of damage...is the seeping oil normal after a tip over of this nature or did i do some damage under the covers that i need to investigate? Thanks in advance, --troy |

I had the same seeping after my recent tip over, except mine was from the primary inspection cover. I just checked the gasket (paper i think), retightened the two bolts and wiped it clean. No issues. Maybe just inspect it a little closer? Probably totally fine if your shift lever didn't damage anything. Mine took a nice gouge outta the cover but no real damage other than cosmetic. |
