im 6'1" and weigh about 212. Im comfortable until i hit highway speeds on a windy day. Crouching down is not very comfortable on this bike for tall people. Besides that I feel great on it, no lower back pain like I had on my previous bike (zx6r) after a long ride. | ||

well at 6'2" 1/8 of a ton and 50 yo the xb9sx fit me just fine,i did get a bit cramped up after a 7 hr ride only stopping for gas,but i think i would have been cramped up even on a bmw,best i can say is sit on one or find a demo day and check it out (Message edited by arkane on April 27, 2005) | ||

I'm about 6', 250+, 40+, and have a 2004 S. Fits me good also. I will second the windy day thing. My wife's R is a good switch, but only for a little while. I do have to admit, in the wind, tucked behind the faring and tank bag, the R is MUCH smoother! The S fits me a lot better. As far as the wind, I've seen some extended windscreens on this board that would probably help. Enjoy! g u s | ||

ok...I don't fit your criteria exactly, but I'll add my $.02 I'm 6'4", 185 lbs, 33 yrs....I have an XB9R and I love it. The bike fits me great...I can ride it all day with no worries. When I sat on the S I felt like I was too upright and my upper body wasn't comfortable...the R seems to let me stretch out my upper body more. test ride them both and see...  | ||

6'3" 205 lbs. I bought the S first. Then I decided I was too upright, so I bought the Crossroads bars. That wasn't enough. So I converted it to an R. My point is that I should have just bought the R first. If you feel the R is a bit too stretched out, buy the Heli (?) bars that sit you more upright. Wind blast is certainly something to consider as well. I felt like a parachute sitting on top of the stock S above 70. The R is not as comfortable as an urban machine. I miss my S when riding short distances. | ||

I saw a guy riding an XB the other day, not sure if it was an R or an S, but I suspect an S. When he got out of town, he put his feet on the passenger pegs and laid down over the tank. Thats one way to be less upright. :-) | ||

Yah 6'2" + 210 + 'delicate' lower back, the weight distribution on my R is just great. S is too upright for longer/faster rides although brilliant around town. | ||

6'2" and 235 pounds or so, and happy as a clam on my 9sx. Fits as good or better then the Cyclone did. | ||

6'3" - 185 pounds. The XB9SX really impressed me when I first rode it. I thought I would be too tall for such a small bike, but I fit really well. Comfortable too. | ||

I'm 6'2", 210 lbs, and I think that I BARELY fit on my XB9S, although my wife thinks I look too big. The bike sure looks small compared to my other bikes, even next to my 929RR... But I do love the look of the XB9S! It's so simple but elegant.. Tim | ||

I'm 6'4" inches like you. 31, 230 lbs. The "S" pegs on my "R" did the trick. I feel I fit on it better than any other sportbike... If you've got bad wrists, the "S" model to start with would be a good option. | ||

6 foot 3 inches 275 with a 53 inch chest im like a sail on the highway. best way to get more horsepower out of my bike is to let someone smaller ride it. | ||

6' 240 and 22 on a 9s, fits like a glove. The only thing that i ever have a problem with is my knees cramping after a couple hours of riding in a straight line. Feeling tends to go away after i hit some turns. (only going straight for a long time when i ride with my friends with cruisers, when im in the lead with sportbike friends its all about the twisties) | ||

6'4" 200lbs XB12R I put the S pegs on as well, I also left my rider pegs on for those long Freeway runs. It's nice to be able to stretch out a little. | ||

6'1" 220 lbs XB12R Like 12bolt, I'll kick my feet up on the passenger pegs on a long ride. Lean down on the tank and you can get real comfortable. It's nice to have 2 or three positions to get into on that long ride rather than sitting on a recliner for 500 miles, that doesn't look like much fun. | ||

btw the xb9sx seat height is .5" higher than the 12s is it the seat that adds the .5 inch? if so you might look into getting a seat swap | ||

I guess I might as well jump in 6'1" 215, 43, 12R. Took about a week to learn how to keep the weight off my hands, I ride for extended periods of time, usually mixing up the the of roads. Never rode an "S", so I'm no help there. I can say that I have a "not so perfect" lower back, and have never had a problem on this bike. 250 miles on a V-Rod left me in pain | ||

6' 290 lbs at 22 years. Broken both wrists so I know how hard riding a sport bike can be on your wrists. Own the XB9SX and don't have any complaints about comfort minus the seat. | ||

It's true. When we go for rides, Buell Group, I look around and the other sportbike guys are kinda dinkey. We're the BIG bad boys of motorcycling! |
