I found this thing from a German website. A kind of insert that can be used to reduce the noise from a Buell race exhaust. From a guy from a French website, it's seem to work fine. It's sound somewhere between a stock and a race exhaust. Is someone know a place in US or Canada that make some parts like that? The place in Europe who do those parts, sell them for 50 Euros and ask 10 more to ship it in Canada. If I do the conversion, it's almost $100 (canadian), a bit expensive I think. |

Why would you want to reduce the noise from a Buell race exhaust? |

Why would you want to reduce the noise from a Buell race exhaust? Because depending on where you live, sometime cops don't like bikes that make too much noise! Danvetc, here's the link for the website that sell the db-killer http://www.sf-bikeparts.de/shop/shop.html?d_1_07_dB_Killer_fur_den_Buell_Race_Sc halldampfer359.htm |

Here is Babelfish translation: Particularly for the Buell Race muffler developed employments. With the help of these employments the condition noise (measured with XB9) on approx. becomes. 99 railway (A) reduced, without the exhaust "zuzuschnueren". The XB Race pot becomes thereby neighbour and Bavaria-suited. If necessary the employment can be installed and dismantled within seconds. Scope of supply: 2 railway killers from VA + fixing bolts railway killers for other exhaust systems are when desired individually made! Price: EUR 49.00 ******************** Can anyone tell me what "zuzuschnueren" translates to? |

I hope they had more than one set, as I ordered a pair for my cityX today as well. I wonder if they create enough back pressure to make the Race ECM unnecessary? We will see. Charlie |

I received it last week. It cut down the sound just a little bit. I didn't ride it a lot yet(because of the weather). But these insert are really simple to make. Just a piece of tube with one end larger (out). I'll try to post some pict latter this week. One question for you guys. How do you do to restore a thread from archive? |

Hi guys, @Stou: the db-killer reduces the noise by 2dB(A). So the sound is ok here in germany, if the noise is measured by the police. @Danvetc: did you get yours? I shipped them two weeks ago. In a few days I will do some dyno runs with/without the db-killers. Best regards Stefan |

Stefan, when I wrote it cut the sound just a little bit, I mean it's doesn't reduce too much the nice sound of the race exhaust. The bike still have a great sound but with a little bit lower dB. I'm really satisfied with the product. Thanks! |

Stefan, Unfortunately mine did not arrive in time to try them. My motorcycle is for sale with the stock muffler installed. I will have to let someone else give them a go. |

Dear Charlie, the dB-killer are very easy to install. Look at the photo above! Drill a little hole in the inner outlet and fix the db-killer with the screws. That's it! :-) Best regards Stefan |
