For those of you who hate oil (engine and or primary)... here is a solution that is cheap and effective.... saw something similar on one of the Mustang boards I frequent...

I've been doing that since the first change,I thought everyone knew about that. |

I use a 20oz coke or water bottle with an opening cut at the bottom edge to wedge between the exhaust and the swing arm, the oil then runs out the spout into my catch basin. |

Thanks for sharing, maybe everyone isn't as smart as "the troll". That foil would work well on the other side for the filter change also. I generally use a plastic bag under the oil filter and a plastic cup for the main drain. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/64637.html |

Oooohh, Simple Green is my new best friend. For washing the bike I just spray down the wheels and anything that has road grime and brake dust. Let it sit for a minute or so and power wash it off. It's not totally shiny clean but good enough for me since usually the next day I end up riding in the rain anyway. |

That "black oil" is 3000Mi Mobil 1 15W-50... The recommended change interval is 5000Mi for both the engine and primary.... |

Suggest 2500 mile changes. Just a thought! |

I use a frisbee with a 1/2in hole bored near the edge. -Nadz |

I grabbed a piece of aluminum coil stock from a siding contractor at work and had him bend it into a "chute" to keep the oil off the pipe. Will try and post a pic of it as soon as I can find a way to down size my pictures. |

EVERY SATURDAY? Do you honestly change it once a week? Where does it say that in the manual? I've gone to the 2000-2500 mile changes since being on this board. Aaron |

i just put a really big drain pan under, remove both plugs and filter and let that nice warm oil drool out and rinse some of the road dirt off the drummer- no harm done there. wipe down with a rag after refilling the primary and swingarm. its just oil, no big deal. |

I to typically do the 2500Mi change (Engine and Primary)- it just got away from this time... I've got 11400Mi on it and it runs great, leaks no oil and burns virtually none... I typically am down a pint or less by the time I reach 2500Mi.... |

I use the cardboard box the filter comes in. crease the lid and it funnels it to the pan. |
