Blake, no thong...but I like Yellow if you care to send me one...course that's an image that even *I* don't want to contemplate.

====================

I'll say it one more time...where have I ever said clone another make of bike? I've been clamoring for more hp (among other things and proffered many ways they could of done that...even on the XB platform). I've clamored to sell what you race, race what you sell (and this goes hand-in-hand with the previous statement). You seem to read different in what I say. You seem to not be able to seperate what *was* said v. what I'm saying now. God forbid that I might have changed my tune, albeit slightly, from what I said 6 months ago (or how ever long ago that fiasco was).

I give up, you win. I suck, I'm a whining looser....ad nausea. Buell's are the best, you know it all...ad nausea.

Why buy a twoblast when in about a year you'll be able to buy a BiggerTwoBlast (XB13R)!

If you want the new bodywork everyone is talking about, then wait for the Firebolt's big brother to be released. It has even more.

That's very likely true. Harley-Davidson folks, reeling over the embarressment of the VR Program, love to brag of the upcoming "RR-1000 bodied 1300+cc Buell world beater".

I rest my case.......

I'm SHOCKED, SHOCKED! to hear Court spill the beans like that!

Just saw the Motorcyclist review of the XB. Gotta say, was impressed by how well is sounded at full tilt for having the stock can on...sounded as good as the 998 they talked about next (which probably had termigoni's on)! Way to go BMC, cause the other stock cans sound no-where near as good (IMO)...always liked the stealth-effect stock can on the X1, but it sounded too weak and tinny.

You know Aaron, why is it you accuse me of all kinds of stuff, yet you do nothing but attack me? You don't have to like or even listen to my opinions, but why must you continually attack me because of them??? Before, I deserved it, I said silly, attacking things...now, I don't think you'll give me a fair shake out of spite/narrow-mindedness/whatever.

You still have not answered me, I have no positive contributions to this board or this discussion?

You are both about to force me to go back into production with PATCHES and fine both you of.

One of the things about this venue that makes it what no other board or factory site has or could become is the difference of opinion.

Some are based on one party having more info than another. Others based on a party having more knowledge or experience and a host have their roots ("the BEST bike ever made"...sound familiar?) in PURE passion.

Regardless, all things Buell end up passionate and I learned, with an engineer in Mukwonago, years ago to be able to disagree vehemently without it being or being taken personally.

Each time one of us speaks, be it right or wrong...ALL of us think. Therein, I submit, lies our strentgh in our concerted passion for Buells.

Be on the look out the next several days for the STATE OF THE ELVES - 2000. I'm gonna wait and see how the Pres handles his gig this evening.

Court

P.S. - The Elves have ruled our, summarily, invading any foreign countries.....But...if we did, I have two guys I'd send in the first wave to insure victory!

Nah, I ain't taking the bait, Neil

It's a semi-free country. You keep whining that the bikes aren't "proper". I'll keep pointing out that the world doesn't revolve around you. Expect it.

Somehow, I don't think the complaining and whining about Buell would stop no matter what they made. If that's what you were really interested in, you'd move on to one of many fine bikes already available that meet your specs. Even Cecil had the sense to do that.

The time has come for those of us disappointed on Buell's direction to expand our stable of bikes and add other brands. So what if we need to get another jacket or learn new maintenance techniques, that will be the price of that stellar top end we crave that Buell won't give us.

Wouldn't you like to know!

Hey, it's not like *you've* ever had a disagreement with someone, right?

Anon: That new R1 is cool looking, huh?

I absolutely agree, it's silly to sit around waiting for one particular company to make exactly what you want, when there are so many offerings out there. It makes no sense. Manufacturer's make a variety of products because consumers have a variety of tastes.

I want more top end, too, but unfortunately, I don't want all that other stuff that comes with it. Sigh.

Hopefully someday some company will introduce a 100" naked streetfighter. I want my 130hp but I want a simple, naked package and a mountain of torque.

No bait, just a question...but alas, you proved my point...I don't think you'll give me half a chance, just jump to conclusions w/o even hearing me out.
===============

And I've got a few other bikes...working on 1 of everything.

Yes, the new R1 is tasty looking...just hope they revised the clutches as the older R1 and R6's just eat clutches.

...and exactly how many 110+ rwhp naked twins are in production???

Well, Neil, like it or not, the people behind these bikes know a hell of a lot more about designing, building, and marketing motorcycles than either of us. They also know things like the resources available to them and competitive offerings.

Expressing disappointment that a new model is not what you want is one thing. But to sit here and throw rocks at the company, and say things like it's not the "proper" way to do it, "shit or get off the pot", or saying they don't know their own concept, or they don't know how to market, is silly, arrogant, and ignorant.

Those are things you're saying now, not 6 months ago. And I'm doing nothing more than pointing out how it looks.

If you're sure you're so much smarter than them, go start a motorcycle company!
