Anyone over 30 will get a chuckle out of this one. I went riding the other night and it was a bit chilly outside. I ususally have my visor up when i'm just banging around town. Nothing serious happened..went home and fell asleep. The next morning i wake up with what i thought was a stiff neck...as the day wears on i can't even turn my head. I feel around and i find a lump the size of a golfball on the back of my neck...called a few doctors and get this one. I'm told the cold air got into the muscles around my neck and locked them up...!! What the hell am i??? I'm 27 yrs old and i'm barely able to drive my self to the store because i can't turn my head...I feel like an old fart you can't find his glasses.... |

Wow!....that's kinda funny but not really. I just turned forty but am still in pretty good shape. Ran 6 miles carrying 20 pounds of weight, ran at five miles per hour. But some days I do feel pain in my body. hehehe |

How cold was it. I've been riding a few years with half, 3/4, and full helmets in all kinds of weather and have never had this problem and I'm 30. The only pain I've got on my XB9R is from my tailbone hitting the seat cowl when I take off hard or pop wheelies. What I really hate is when I pop a wheelie and may hip cramps up, I feel like stopping right then and stretching but that doesn't look cool so I just bear the pain till I can go around the corner and get off and stretch and rub my leg. I guess just part of getting older, but I'm still too young. |

I'm 35 and I have never heard of anything like this. Cold air getting into your muscles? sounds dubious to me, but I'm a machinist, not a doctor. |

Haven't had it that bad. Just had it where rubbing the back of my neck did nothing for it. Took some tylonial and all was well. |

I have had that issue for alot of years, as in since I was a teenager. I was told its related to my low blood pressure, I average 115/65-70. I also suffer from night cramps and the dreaded dead arm syndrome where your arm falls asleep at night and you get woke up when it goes to the pins and needles stage. You get used to it after awhile. |

I have chronic neck problems and find the cold and weight of a helmet is a sure ticket to the chiropractor. Some days I wear my motocross carbon fiber helmet on my street bikes just to loose some lbs. Anyone out there know of a extra light street helmet? |

I run out of breath just trying to pull in the clutch on my XB. :-) No potshot intended at anyone, I am near the deathmark of 40 myself and I love the riding position of the XB9S, not pediatric(curled into a fetal position) or geriatric(streched out and reachin' for jell-o pudding). |

Hmmm, interesting story Yeags, one I can sorta relate to...59 here. Still recovering from my own weekend ride (took Friday off for a three day excursion in Korea)...just tired mostly, ha ha! My left hand, arm, and shoulder were numb Saturday night. So, I am asking myself, is it the heart or just using that clutch all day, ha ha...couldn't have been the beer from the night before! Will I wake up in the morning, or will they find me dead Took my aspirin and woke up to rain the next morning for the trip home (thank goodness for that fly screen on my XB9S and the extended fender coverage on the front and rear)...naturally it turns to sunshine about the time I get home. Will ride 'em 'til I die, then leave the toys to my boys Cyko Bob |

It can get worst. I was diagnosed with RA (rheumatoid arthritis) three years ago at age 50. A lifetime of riding motorcycles in the Canadian north probably was a contributing factor. I had to park the bike for two years while waiting for a drug (Enbrel) that would bring relief. Today I take no chances with the cold and wear top shelf clothing that leaves no skin exposed. Rukka jacket and neck protector, Aerostich electric vest, Held winter gloves, leather pants and Goretex lined boots. The other option was to quit riding and I wasn't going there. |

I aint done yet. Worst crash in more than 35 years of riding in a race at 51 years of age. Bones are out of warranty but when they're set and rehab is over, I have no excuses and will be out playing on the racetrack ASAP. Got my first podium racing at age 51... it's not just a thing for kids and squids. |

Laughing my aging butt off here..... I, well into my sunset years, spent yesterday pulling a couple bikes out of "multi-year" hibernation. Everybody spent some time on the charger before getting washed and pointed towrards the local gasateria for fresh fuel. One of them was reluctant to start so I, harking back to my youth, set about doing the "run, like hell, jump on a dump the clutch drill". Back in the days when I stole a CL77 that needed relit, I could do that time and time again until it fired. Yesterday I was good for 3 shots, then 2 with the station attendant and it was staight to the phone. Vick arrived with pickup and ramp within minutes. Today I can barely walk! If I'd ever dreamt I'd lived this long, I woulda taken better care.....wouldn't have stood in front of the speakers at the Eric Burden concert either. Court |

Man, I dunno about these youngins...... I drove 4 hrs up to the Mohegan Sun in CT for the HOG/Brag primary officer training, ate, drank, gambled and partied hard with The HD execs and HOG members from Thursday to Sunday morning, drove home and then took my Xb out for a 100 mile ride on Sunday afternoon. Got up this morning & went to work, no problem - & I'm 55. Hey Hogs, I guess they don't make 'em like they used to..... |

Saturday up at 0430 to arrive at track by 0830. Nine hours of loading unloading and preparing bikes changing wheels and repairing crash damage. Got home at 2030 after a 350 mile round trip, so tired and so sore I never want to see a go**am bike again. Sunday up at 0730... 0830 on the Firebolt heading for the hills...................at age 52 I should have more sense right? |

Wait until you're 70. What doesn't ache rather than what does is all too normal. But it's still worth it and I hate to think of having to quit. An old friend, age 87, is frustrated as he had to quit "early" because his knees won't allow him to hold a bike up. Now that's a problem. |

I'm 54 and was out all weekend. Didn't ride this morning as the temp was about 30 ,but that was mostly because of black ice. I rolled my truck several years ago one of those type mornings. Not fun. My youngest is 26 the oldest is 33. I don't think of myself as an old fart yet. Old farts sit around and do nothing. I like the active alternative. |

I was getting my XB9S out of the shed for a ride on the first warm and sunny Saturday this year. I heaved the back-end of the bike to line it up with the ramp, as I do with my Husky, but the bike didn't move - my back did. I was out of action for 5 days, and missed some good weather I'm only 45! |

I'm 25...I can ride forever. You can't get me off my bike. My biggest problem when riding is when we get to where we're going, I'm ready to leave after 5 mins just to get back on the bike |
