Anybody have their XB start pinging after a TPS reset??? I put the race ecm in the other day and only put a few miles on before today. I met my wife for lunch and on the way back it ran a little rough. It popped on de-acceleration but other than that it ran ok. I decided to swing bye the dealer to see if I could talk my way into a TPS reset while I waited. They took me in and about 25 minutes later I was on my way. I noticed before I took it in that it idled a little rough at idle, and after they worked on it the bike seemed to idle the same although the guy adjusted the idle speed. I rode it for about an hour or so and almost every time I went up thru the gears it pinged between 2k & 4k rpms. Anybody know why? Rage, my resident tech, got any ideas? (I was running Sunoco 94 octane, and stopped while out and put Mobil 93 octane in with the same result)

'Bout the only thing I can think of, other than bad gas, is your timing may be off. That was my problem.
I still have it a little every once in a while, usually under heavy acceleration.

I believe the race ecm has more aggressive timing than the stock ecm, which would make it more prone to knock with the same fuel.

I thought that octane may be the culprit so I added a couple of ounces of 104+ octane boost. It was better, only pinged a couple of times on the way home from my dad's house tonight. Will try to mix it properly per the bottle at the next fill up.

Make sure it's OK to use with an O two sensor.

Thanks Glitch, I'll check on that.
