I thought the latest projected delivery date was late April on a Saturday. Currently we are having snow with flakes bigger than anything Kelloggs has ever stuffed into a box of cold cereal. This can be either a good thing or a bad thing relative to the projected delivery date. |

FB: Can you even remember which side is the correct side to hang off? heheheh Actually posing on that thing was more an exersize in hanging "on". It really made me appreciate the g forces the racerboys must endure. So, what's the weather like out your way right now? |

Any word on if the tranny parts are interchangeable with exsisting Buells? I hear it shifts really smoothly. I believe the exact quote from Motorcyclist was, "snicky-snick gearbox." Sounds like a technical term. Spike '99 Cyclone (clunky-clunk gearbox) AIM: cheetahRX7 |

I'd be very surprised, since it's not a trap door setup. Sounds like a whole different design. |

MCN UK reported last week that the Firebolt is going on sale here in April. The price on the road is £7345 . To put that into perspective the Lightning is £7495 and just as important, the Monster S4 is £7700 and Triumphs Speed Triple £7999. Yes the S4 and the Speed Triple might get a better discount price on the showroom floor but overall, the big four are slightly upping their prices anyway since the Levi Jeans ruling, so I doubt much discounting will go on across the other brands unless they're end of season discounted clearances. I hope you guys get it as good. Here in Blighty dealers will not undercut Buell rrp but that's a pretty good price anyway. I paid £7300 for my S1W in August 1998 and a further £700 for the race kit. Oh, and I'm still a happy camper, money wasn't the issue back then as long as I could manage to scrape up enough. I did...............and I'm still scraping Rocket in England |

hey Blakester, once in a large group ride, with lots of "lookee me, i'm SO fast" types, i passed a bunch of 'em on a corner while i hung off the WRONG side (not exactly easy, i'll tell ya!) good for a bunch of laughs at the next rest stop :-) weather here today was peachy, a gentle, balmy 60-plus degrees under the bluest skies this side of Seattle (in their dreams!!!) mid-20's lately at night, tho, SoCal's way of reminding us that it is technically still winter. i'm a little behind on my news, didya ever get out here and ride Snail's HayaBooster? effinB |

Sure did. Rode his deer antlers for pegs S3 too. The Busa was one of the most comfortable and smooth bikes I've ever ridden. Oh yeah, it was SCARRRRY fast too. Decievingly smmoth and fast. You have no clue you are doing anywhere near the speed you are. Can you believe the lunatic roosted me on our way DOWN his GRAVEL drive heading into a TURN at NIGHT!? My kinda guy! Blake (sunny and near 70 for last 5 days here in Kilgore, TX} What you think of a new XB9R if one showed up on your doorstep? |

Rocketman: How come you are still quoting pounds? Hasn't the EEC begun using Euros as of 01/01/02? Jose |

Tap: You mean the Brits refuse to accept the Euro right? I'd like to see our brothers in Britain take on the dollar instead of the Euro. A much safer bet in currency stability. heheheh |

Blake, i rode a first-year 'Buzer thru Porterville, CA several years back, knew i was humping but didn't realize how MUCH so 'til i stole a glance at the "How Big Is The Ticket Gonna Be?" gauge and it was making out with the numeral "150". geez, what a machine, it was nowhere near breaking a sweat (altho i certainly was......) haven't seen 70 around here in quite some time, i'm just a wee bit jealous :-) so, what would i think if'n an F'bolt showed up on my doorstep? um, do you know something i don't know, hmmmmmmmmm??? XOXOXO, F'b |

Mike : Firstly, this isn't something I'm well versed in but I understand it like this............( I make no excuses if I'm wrong) Levi's recently won a long standing court battle here in the UK, barring a large supermarket chain from selling Levi products that they'd bought indipendently, and then selling them at knock-down prices, thus undercutting authorised Levi outlets. In the UK it has been popular practice in recent years for motorcycle dealers to sell what we call grey imports. These are usually bikes destined for other markets other than the UK, mostly German, and that are surpluss to their market requirements, thus they are bought up cheaper by grey importers and then sold in the UK cheaper, often undercutting main dealer discounted prices by some considerable margins. The only set back might be the cost in changing a kilometer clock or wrong way headlight and possibly some servicing and warranty issues, but still a cheaper option than buying a UK model from an authorised dealer. Having said that, in the early days of "grey importers" there were a few rogue traders, but in recent years the higher profile grey import specialists have really got their act together and have offered their own service and warranty, and with a lot of success too, and thus "stealing" sales from authorised dealers. Honda, like Levi, have had court cases against these higher profile outfits, and now the Levi ruling is in place it basically says that ALL manufacturers have the right to protect their product price, which means that selling grey imports is somehow technically illegal. It's not all bad news they tell us, because the price of new bikes has never been better and manufacturers are discounting like they never did before. In any case, I don't think we've seen the end of the grey importer. The fight will go on. Of that I am certain. Rocket in England |
