Kevin has made up some "points" covers with the Drummer logo. They are made of polished 6061 aluminum billet. These aren't the typical thin sheetmetal covers. They are 1/4" thick. The cost is $39.95 each.   | ||

Drill the rivets out and tap the holes I think 10/32 size | ||

Drift - You drill out the rivets. The top plate is a very thin trim piece. Underneath is another thicker plate with #8-32s holding it in place. Unscrew those 2 screws and replace that piece with the new cover. I chose to use stainless flat heads instead of the stock screws on the new cover. I also used a small amount of silicone sealer on the joint. | ||

Steve You got me laughing on that one. It took an impact driver to get the 8/32s out. I just got in a box of ss flat heads, I will soon be updating. | ||

Mike - I was thinking I might get a box of cross point oval heads. The allen flat heads I used don't look that great IMHO. On another subject, I've designed a very trick titanium shift lever. I'm about 70% done with the fabrication. I'll post a photo when its done. | ||

Here are parts 1 & 2 in TI with the machining fixture. Part #3 in the works for lunchtime today. Titanium isn't easy, but sharp tools, very slow speeds and climb milling are the way to go. | ||
