Hello All, Can anyone tell me the location of the Dyno Loop in the wire loom on a 05 Firebolt? I think it is under the front fairing close to the ECM but am having trouble finding it so I have a few questions. The loop is Yellow with a Blue stripe correct? Do I have to remove the fairing to see it? Does anyone have any pictures? Sometimes it is hard translating from the wiring diagram to the actual loom. Thanks in advance, jim | ||

Jim, This has nothing to do with your post, but by chance do you know Steve and Janet Appel? They live in Pt Pleasant. During the summer, I grew up in the area a bit further south (Lavallete area) myself. My Cousins lived in Manasquan. My Dads summer home as boy was in Point Pleasant. | ||

what is a dyno loop? i have a pretty comprehensive schematic for the XB12S model, and i do not see a reference to such. | ||

Truk, Don't know the Apels. The Dyno loop is shown on the wiring diagram close to the ECM connectors. It is a loop of the wire connecting between the ECM and the ignition coil. The loop is used to connect an inductive pickup to provide RPM information when the bike is put on a DYNO. I was looking for it because I am connecting a Veypor performance monitor and I need an RPM feed. I found the wire underneath the fairing on my Firebolt zip tied to the diagnostic connector. I was having trouble finding it because I was looking right past it fishing around up by the ECM connectors. You can see the yellow wire with a blue stripe in the picture.  | ||

well when i put am XB on a Dyno i just take off the "tank" lid and clip the pick up around the rear plug wire. but if you need and RPM signal wire you may want to look for the PINK wire it is the one that sends the RPM signal to the tach. | ||

I think you could use the wire shown above instead of taking the tank off. Also just to clarify, the pink wire is a low voltage digital feed from the ECM to the instrument panel, the Y/BE wire is the high voltage control wire to the coil. There are always more than one way to skin a cat.  | ||
