Actually, there are jack points on the muffler. I know for sure that the stock pipes have them and D&D's can be jacked up also. Sears makes a jack for $100.

I think Pitbull makes a swingarm lift.

You certainly *can& jack the bike with the stock,
race, and a couple of other aftermarket mufflers!

I bought the ATV/Motorcycle jack from Sears for
$100 (as above) and it works great.

Call DaveS and order his pitbull (front/rear) stands
if you can't/don't want to jack it.

Lockhart Phillips makes a good swingarm stand. I have one and I like it very much

the Sears $100 sounds like a good deal

I would think you'd be able to lift the swingarm with one hand.

I found Handy Industries sells a set of stands (front & rear) for like $99. I just haven't gotten off my butt and ordered them. There's a regular kit and one with an offset to deal with the difference in the fork lengths.

I use the LP stand, and on a stock muffler, D & D, or drummer, you can use a jack. Using the stand and the jack you can get both wheels off the ground.

You can beat a PitBull, great product and great support if you ever need something, just make sure you order a wide on for the XBs. Ive had my set of Pitbulls for like 8-9 years and they have lifted everything from a GSXR1100 to a Honda Shadow in total safety !

I built one that turned out just about like my design:

Buell Jack

It works by tilting up and placing the ends of the cradles under the muffler, then stepping on the handle to lift the bike up.

It works fine; the only problem with it is that I lined the cradles with 1/2" polyurethane that is so slick, the bike wants to roll over. I just put the kickstand down and put a 2x4 under it for now; worked well enough to polish the back wheel and get my steering head bearings adjusted.

Just bought a pitbull today. Already have the crasftsman lift, but that doesn't help much when ya gotta take off the muffler AND the rear wheel! : D

Bluebuell-I'm not sure if I got a "wide" one, but I adjusted the sides all the way out and it fit the bike just barely. I'm going to roll with that. It's the nifty kind that folds forwards! And once the bike is up you can roll it all around! One beefy @ss mamma lift!!! Pricey at $150, but I'll probably have it forever so... oh well!

later,
Nick

Hey Whilstle - You probally didnt get the wide one, it will work, BUT, make sure the pads done wear out or it will scratch/rub the crap out of your swingarm.

Thanks BB-
Probably won't use it a hell of a lot! Ok well once a week to clean the rear wheel.

Is there any way you can make this thing lift the front end if I should want to do that???

thanks,
Nick
