Kevin has improved his pipe for the XB12. More volume, to compensate for the bigger bore. Originally the 9 and 12 were the same. I just installed pipe, race ECM and K&N. It pulls harder everywhere!! Picks the front up on 1/4 throttle roll ons in first. Spike has the old Drummer on his 12. Going to put both bikes on the dyno to find out the difference. Kevin's also working on a all stainless model. |

When I picked up my pipe a couple weeks ago,it looked like he had a pretty good start on the stainless. The pipe I'm running is one he modified. |

Things are going smooth so far and after more designing and testing I'll keep you posted and maybe some pics on a bike in a few weeks or so...I'm working real close with Jerseyguy on some design and realworld air/fuel testing to be sure everything is like it needs to be... Kevin www.kdfab.com |

Hey Kevin I guess you already know from my post, I got the ecm put on and the tps set. I can't believe what a difference the pipe and ecm made. It sounds bad to the bone!!!! No more pissy whining inline fours for me. Can't wait to get this thing to the track. Thanks for all the help and info. |

Tell what Kevin.. .let me know when you get that 12 drummer all sorted out. I would like to get another one. The dealer poked a hole in my current drummer... still functions but I would like to get another one. |

Sorry, but using two diff bikes for this doen't prove anything one way or the other. You need to test both mufflers on the same bike. (Message edited by gsxr_is_gone on February 27, 2005) |

Yes, you are right Gsxr. But that would require swapping pipes, riding the bikes a while to let them relearn and more dyno time. More time and money than I,m willing to invest right now. Spike maybe updating his pipe, if he does I'll see if we can get him back to the dyno. |

I'd be up for dyno runs, I just need to figure out how to justify to my wife spending $400 for another version of the pipe I already have. Since Kevin, Mike N. and I are all in NC, maybe we could work something out. Mike, if you can arrange the dyno time I'd be more than willing to use my bike as the test mule. Maybe Kevin could make us a loaner muffler to test with? BTW- Mike, you have mail. Mike Luddy, Jr. '04 XB12R (Message edited by spike on February 27, 2005) |

Spike I know I can get the dyno time a reduced rate. I'll can cash in some favors. Three of the shops I do a lot of work for have dynos. Lets see what Kevin can do to help a brother out.

Spike, If you already have the Drummer on the 12, I'm going to figure a price to redo what you have so it won't be alot of money, just some shipping money and time...We'll get together on the test muffler soon, I know it will be better cause I've already beat the Becin on Tilley's race bike 2hp across the board with no fuel adjustment so it's working as of now and the pipe will be on the dyno on the race bike before long, so I'll keep you posted..... Thanks, Kevin www.kdfab.com |

Kevin What does the Becin look like, is that the pipe with the little expansion chamber. |

It's a full system that Gerald built for Don and after it went back to Buell, Becin started building it, it's a cool system but it's just not the best thing there is for the money, I thought it was a cool system but it sure is weird that I can make the same power with a stock production 12 header on a 1350 cc high-compression racing engine, maybe it was just luck..... www.kdfab.com |

Gearhead, It's gonna be $150 includes shipping back to you except for Hawaii and Alaska.. I'll change insides, new endcap, new fatlet, and repaint...this combo also works great on stage 3 Nallin heads and 1050 kit using the stock 9 header... Kevin www.kdfab.com |

Kevin -- Ever thought about setting up a deal with a local powdercoater and coating them rather than painting? Mine started to blister at the straps from the get-go... Steve. |

Like Kevin suggested, we haven't been idle this winter. He has worked out improvements on the 12 and we are in the design & pre production phase of a new stainless steel version called the Drummer SS as well. It will mount using the stock brackets, be jackable and the chin fairing will fit right up. No cheesy thin aluminum held together with pop rivets on this one. The SS is not going to be ready for a while because it will have to be tested to be sure it boasts the same results as the original Drummers. Along those lines, I am developing a rolling air fuel mixture & acceleration testing system specific to Buells. The major components are due in this week. Once I get it sorted out, I will use it to test the new Drummers on the same bike. This is gonna take some time because we won't bring it to market until we are satisfied its just right. We aren't into phony claims or bogus hype. On another note, I have a 12 and a 9 core in stock, ready for conversion for any of you who don't want to trade in your own mufflers. I usually sell them on eBay. It works for our European customers. |

2k4xb12, I've had 2 powdercoated in service now and the same thing happened to them, don't know why but it's not worth me relying on another person in the process to hold everybody else up..I like the paint cause everyone at home can repaint it using bbq black if they need too, if you need me to do it send it to me, I would be happy to help.... Rubberdown, I'll be at Myrtle Beach Bike Week in May but probably won't be finished with the stainless yet unless something good happens fast, and we know how that works.... www.kdfab.com |

Dude That one is fat. I ask for kevin for a right side outlet. It seems it was a good Idea. No oil in the pipe at oil changes, is a point Spike brought up. Keep up the good work Jerseyguy. |

Just out of curiousity...since that fatlet is rotated to the right... how's the belt tensioner holding up with the exhaust blowing on it? |
