Found this pipe on 2009 motor with no corresponding item on 2010 motor. Not even a sign of a port on '10 motor. Anybody know what it is, or does? Wondering what to do.

Thanks Dean. So I'm guessing I won't need to worry about not seeing this pipe on new motor. |

That pipe isn't on the 2010 motors. I don't remember what it does, I'm sure someone will chime in. |

If I remember correctly it supplies vacuum to the vacuum side of the clutch diaphragm.. |

Looks like the 2010 low pressure line comes in on the front side on the engine now

Great. So I'll need to get a vacuum line in that configuration. |

More. Took a look again, now that I know where to look. Vacuum line is already there on '10 motor. Whatever my first line is there is no sign of. Will be better able to track it when I drop the motor out. It's like 45F in my garage, so I do one small task and call it a day, no hurry. Am ready to pull swingarm pin, rear and mid mount bolts. That should let motor down. K brackets are disconnected. Am beginning to think I may have to start an "Adventures in Motor Swapping" thread. |

This line has never been a vacuum line for the slip assist clutch. The vacuum line for the clutch runs down from the manifold - which is the only place that makes sense if You want to reduce clutch pressure based on engine load / engine breaking. The line in question is a vent line between the rear cylinder head and the oil sump chest. As far as I remember it was found to be unnecessary and skipped for later production years. We disconnected this line on all our race engines where it was installed. |

Found another pipe barbette that isn't on '09 motor. It's on intake manifold, right above vacuum hose that goes to clutch assist. I suppose I could move intake manifolds from '09 to '10 motor. Would prefer not to.

It's Manifold Absolute Pressure is what this is, I believe. The pipe barbette is totally different from '09 setup. Connections at MAP Sensor are different too. Feel more like wire than hose. Ideas? |

Looks like a fitting for poly or nylon 1/4" hose. Much harder than rubber. I have a ton at work if you can't find it. The water line for a refrigerator ice maker is the same stuff. |

My issue is the fitting on '09 manifold is very different from the one on the '10, The '10 actually looks to be what's in the Service Manual. Am attaching a photo of setup from '09. I can get the hose no problem, thanks.
Am wondering if it's just much smaller hose. |
