I've been trying to read and research to figure this out but I'm giving up and need help. Shortish story - rode my '09 CR to work (no problems detected). After work it backfired through the intake when trying to start it. 2nd try, it fired up but "weak". If I twist the throttle, it sorta "reluctantly" revs up. I felt it wasn't rideable (so, it's been sitting), so it's now probably at least 6mos later and I'd like to get to wrenching on it and try to figure it out. After charging it up and letting it idle (tried the TPS reset, no change in "feel"), I also noticed I have ZERO clutch pressure at the lever and just the slightest bit of visible leakage at the cover (right side of engine). Can y'all give me suggestions on where to begin? |

My R did that once and then would not run right, turns out the throttle butterfly valves moved and I had to loosen the two screws and re-seat the butterfly so it closed completely at idle, worth checking, or it may have blown the throttle body rubber seals apart, the clutch slave will need replacing, Oberon replacement or EBR recommended and you will find the fluid has leaked behind the clutch cover. Good luck (Message edited by stimbrell on October 03, 2020) |

Yes, I would definitely start with the throttle bodies. It is possible they popped out of the boot. As for the clutch, if there is an o-ring shot in the slave cylinder then you won't get any pressure built up. |

Thanks for the response, gentlemen. I will check it out within the next day or two. |
