I purchased a new stator from Rick's stator a few years back. It never seemed to charge well after installation (voltage was around 12.7). I checked out the bike recently and found continuity to ground on all three legs. I noticed a thread where people posted up rewind options, but this thread is several years old. I'm looking to get my stator rewound from someone that is good. I'm tired of messing around with this, I upgraded the VR and rotor (EBR oil jet), just need a good stator. I noticed a thread with a few options (custom rewind), but their site is down. Anyone know a good place to get one rewound these days? |

I used Fernando in Tucson. At the time he was retired from an electric rebuild shop and winding stators to supplement his income. I asked and he used high temp wire. His workmanship is beautiful. I've had his stator installed and buzzing around in TX summer heat for > 10K mi. I recently pulled the engine cover and the stator looked as good as the day it was installed. Not a hint of heat discoloration. Harley could, should have done this from the get go. Here's a link to a thread with pics and his information. I hope he's still in business.
