I noticed at my last track day the lever got soft and it seemed all the fluid weeped out of the cover. I had this once back in 2012 and had it fixed under warrantee, and all was good. I am going to squeeze out 2 more track days on it, hopefully, and will bring it home to swap out the slave cylinder. my question is what is the best option, are the oberon units still around or go with a stock buell unit? Thanks Tom M |

Best option is the Oberon. SPHD actually sells it for less than the OEM one. https://st-paul-harley-davidson-buell.myshopify.co m/products/oberon-clutch-slave-cylinder-for-1125-m odels?_pos=1&_sid=505e8fa67&_ss=r |

I have been considering just doing it as preventative maintenance for my 1125CR. Do they all tend to leak or is it a random occurance? Nobody every complains on a forum that their bike is working properly. |

If it aint broke don't fix it. If it was my bike, no way would I change out a functioning part unless there's a good reason. |

i put in the EBR upgraded clutch slave cylinder and it fixed my 'weep'. but like 34nineteen, I've considered switching over to the Oberon. My understanding is the clutch operation is smoother w/ less 'pull' w/ the Oberon installed.. |

Bubba, that was my impression as well. I'd rather spend the money now, and fix it in the convenience of my garage, rather than be stuck on the road somewhere. |

If it's weeping, that would be a good reason. |

I put the Oberon one in my EBR, it's the same as the 1125 one, and measured HALF the clutch pull with a trigger scale. Half. That was well worth the cost alone! I don't know if the EBR "upgraded" one is the same? |

+ 1 on the Oberon unit, major improvement! |

Good to know the Oberon works well. Half the clutch pull would be a good reason too! Didn't I read about difficulties in installing the Oberon? Haven't been in the market for one, so I wasn't giving that thread my full attention. Edit--Now I realize why I wasn't paying too much attention. Oberon only fits the Rev B clutch covers. I have the original 2008 clutch cover. It's all coming back to me now! (Message edited by fresnobuell on August 09, 2019) |

Yeah installing the oberon was a PITA. Way harder then the OEM. Use a lot of grease. |

Actually,.. use brake fluid to lubricate the o-rings like they say. Too much grease can be an issue and won't flush out of the system easily. I agree it wasn't 'easy'. pay attention to the instructions and line up the dot exactly... https://www.buellxb.com/forum/showthread.php?53018 -Well-Bye/page36 |

I had the original seal fail just before the warranty was up so I got it fixed under warranty back in 2012. Hadn't had any issues until now, the bike is primarily ridden on the track currently. I rode another track day this past Friday and there was spray on my boot from it, but the lever felt firm and I filled the reservoir back up and left it for one more day. I will be ordering the oberon unit as soon as pay day comes |

So I just had to refill and bleed my CRs clutch, it was dry. First issue in 10k miles. Does a stock CR have a revB cover to work with the Oberon? Or would I have to change that? |

So I finally got around to swapping the slave cylinder and have a few questions. I have the manual and was going off a you tube video. So I got the nut backed out and turned it all the way out and the spring and body of the old slave came out the front, not sure if that's a problem or not. Second is I broke loose the case cover bolts and am having a hard time just getting the outer cover off. I am leary of just using brute force and tear the diaphragm and am trying to avoid breaking the oil seal. Any tips on guys who have done this. TIA |

I would HUGELY recommend getting a copy of the service manual and following it. The slave cylinder comes out from the INSIDE. https://www.buellxb.com/forum/showthread.php?53018 -Well-Bye/page36 |

I do have the manual. part of the slave came out the front then I pressed the rest of the housing out from the inside. Getting the new unit in has been a challenge pressing the hell out of it by hand and its not going. |

Read the link I sent you (starts about 1/2 way down page 36) and it should be clear how important it is to line up the notch. Good luck! |

I found that removing the two o rings first (keeping track of which one came from where as they are slightly different sizes). Then install the cylinder and mark exactly where everything lines up. Put the o-rings back on and you should have everything perfectly lined up and have the confidence now to apply pressure. YMMV of course |

Does the Oberon kit work in a 2008 1125R model with the factory (R1029.1AM) clutch cover? Oberon website states their CLU 1125 will work on 2008-2010 models. Another website states it will only work on a 2008 that has the 2009 and later clutch cover (R1029A.1AM). Has anyone installed the Oberon kit on a 2008 model? Thanks for your assistance. |

If your 2008 still has the original cover on it then the ID for the slave cylinder is too small. You will need to get the cover from the 2009 / 2010 models then you add the Oberon slave. |

The Oberon site is right no matter what the "other" website reads. It will only fit the later revision cover. |

I bought a couple of the EBR parts, but still haven’t needed to install one, so I have nothing useful to offer. I’m just wasting board space. Seriously, I haven’t been riding enough since the low side last June. I took the big inch Dyna in to town for an appointment today, then stopped for lunch on the way home. After lunch, the bast#@d wouldn’t turn over fast enough to start...another $50 to Atomic Motorcycle Transport. Got a CT scan coming up soon. |

I have an 08 with an Oberon slave cylinder. Functions awesomely. My bike does have a fairly late build number though at upper 4000s. Single finger clutch pulls with shorty levers. |

I ordered a 2019 cover and a Oberon slave kit. I hope the install goes smooth and no more weeping clutch. |
