Hi guys, I'm from Brazil and I have an 1125R when the engine temperature rises above 86 degrees it switches off from nowhere and will not pick up unless I wait a few minutes to lower the temperature. If the high speed is maintained the bike does not raise the temperature and the problem does not appear. What will it be? This problem is not recorded in history.

guessing it is electrical...
1) how old is the battery?
2) do the fans come on? ( the fans consume a large amount of electrical energy)
3) have you tightened and cleaned the connections to the battery?
4) try disconnecting the head lights to see if the problem repeats...the head lights draw (consume) a large amount of electrical energy...if it solves the problem you need to look into the charging system and battery

I live in the desert - I can run my bike as high as 200 deg F (93 deg C) without any "switch off"

The battery is 2 years old and is already getting very weak, I already cleaned the connectors, but the problem persists. Is it the low battery?
It seems to me more about sensor failure or something like that.

According to the more expert folk on Badweb, almost all problems are caused by a bad electrical connection (low voltage). Check the battery voltage when running, and when the fans kick in. It should be at least above 12V. You mentioned cleaning the connections, but didn't say if you also cleaned the connection at the other end of the cables too.
I don't know enough about the 1125, but if there is an over temp shutoff, (that you are suspecting is going bad), wouldn't it also have an overheat dash indicator of some kind too? ( Check your owners manual for that.)

According to the EBR 1190 wiring diagram, the only measure of temp is an coolant temperature sensor. That would modify the fueling curve, but I doubt the ECM would cut out completely. On the older Tube frame and XB models the ETS interrupts spark on the rear cylinder only. The bike still runs, just poorly. I've replaced mine 3 times on my S3 but I haven't heard of a similar problem with the 1125 units.

the ECM ( Engine Control Module) has a microprocessor in it...all of the micro processors I have worked with demand a good healthy 3 volts DC ( there are regulators in the circuitry to take 12 VDC and reduce it to a steady 3VDC) ...they do not like anything above or below...I suspect that when the temp sensor sees the temperature going up in the coolant/radiators...the ECM turns on the fans...the fans use so much electricity that the micro processor doesn't get it's healthy 3VDC...it shuts everything down....the bike cools off and the temp sensor has no signal to turn on the fans and the microprocessor allows the bike to start again.

I do not believe there is any over temp safety switch/program/sensor on the 1125r...they run very hot all the time.

The other issue that is known is the wiring to the fuel pump thru the frame can fail...but when the engine dies it is not temperature dependent.

suggest you check your voltage output from the stator ( look for the big gray connector with Yellow wires under the seat...if the yellow wires show any sign of being burned/discolored...you may have a problem with the connector getting enough electricity to the voltage rectifier/regulator and finally power to the battery to charge it...if you have a voltmeter it should show 13-14 volts (DC) with the engine running at the battery terminals)

the above Youtube movie can help you understand what is wrong and what needs to be fixed...the '09 model is known to have a bad stator that fails due to overheating...see the subforum subject line on stator/charging issues...the fix is not easy to do and requires the fly wheel/rotor to be modified to increase cooling oil to the stator...see the sub forum for details
(HTH=hope this helps)
