Noticed this happening today. While in gear, when I feather the clutch (like I'm just moving around the parking lot), the engine RPMs go really high. If I put it on neutral and leave it alone the rpms are normal. Then I noticed the CT COLd message never went away while riding today for hours. The CT Cold only goes away when I stop, put it in neutral and let it idle. Then it will show an engine temp of about 220+ and the fans will kick on. What's stopping my coolant and fans from working while I'm riding? And is it related to my high rpms every time I engage the clutch? |

Just adding. It does seem intermittent, but in the sense that something can happen during mid ride and the CT COLD will go away and the temp and clutch will act right. Also noting that not always when in neutral idle will it act right. I can be cruising at 50mph let off the throttle, and filling pull in the clutch and the rpms will still be 4k. I just know the clutch/high rpms and the CT COLD all happen together or they both work right. Never one without the other. Not saying they are causing each other's problem but that they happen. |

Just a guess, for what it is worth. It sounds like a bad temperature sensor. You can get one at your local AutoZone, if it is. |

I'm thinking it is a grounding issue. It wouldn't surprising me considering all issues I've had with this bike are 10% something is clearly and physically broken, 80% grounding issue and the system is going haywire, and 10% not letting her warm up and get her readings before riding. Rode it all day after playing around with the grounds. No issue. Gonna pull apart some of the devices I have and watch it for a while. This was so weird, I'd never see something like this before. |
