Okay guys, I have a 2009 1125cr, and it would not start last year, I took it to HD, and they said the solenoid was bad. I had it replaced, it took them almost a month to get the part in. I've ridden the bike twice, and I keep it on a trickle charger. Now when I try to start it, the solenoid just clicks. O had the batter replaced too, and it's fine, I get 13 volts on the multitester. I know those models have rotor issues, but mine charges at 14.2. So, time for another solenoid? If I need one, I'm going to do it myself. Any comments are welcome |

have you checked: 1) the battery posts?...clean and tight? 2) have you attached the meter to the battery and then tried to start the bike?...what voltage does the meter show while you are forcing a "load" on the battery? 3) grounds - the wire harness is marginal especially the size of the wire (gauge) when used to transmit AMPS to the starter....here's an old post of mine... scroll down for pix. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/674577.html?1336678989 hth |
