Has anyone changed the idle speed using Tunerpro? I have modified the Map 3D: Idle air control setpoint map, however it has not changed the idle speed as I expected it would, is there something I am missing, any thoughts welcome. | ||

I'm waiting for someone to master the Idle Air Control to revive the engine braking in some of the off-the-shelf tunes (like I have). | ||

Don't mean to be a thread-hijacker, but tuning the fuel map and adjusting the EEPROM is hard. Jesus it's hard. I'm having a similar problem, I emailed my EEPROM to someone to adjust, and it came back with the fix but also a bad side effect. When at speed, 3000 to 4500 RPMs, I close the throttle, the RPMs hang and the bike doesn't slow down. Where the fsck do you adjust that? Yes, I know I didn't post a picture of the fuel map, (the fuel maps between the good EEPROM and the bad EEPROM are identical) my point is that the interface is arcane, cryptic. For instance, on another tab in ECM Spy and ECM Droid, clicking the check box, "Enable Quick Shift" does not enable the qucik-shifter. Fsck that, the software lies to you. | ||

It is not straight forward or easy that is for sure. I will keep trying to find what is blocking the changes I am making. Duaneir Tunerpro will enable the quick shift function, there are three settings you have to change IIRC. | ||

Got it! To enable the setpoint map you have to go to flags, Idle air control configuration. use setpoint map (otherwise use setpoint table) tick that and you can edit the idle rpm according to engine temp and volts but here is the bonus, this has deleted the rpm raising to 2,200 in gear with the clutch out which means when you close the throttle YOU HAVE ENGINE BRAKING. At last I can start experimenting with the engine braking settings. It also makes driving in city traffic easier as you do not have to pull the clutch to keep slowing when the revs reach 2,200. | ||

Absolutely, This disables the high rpm in gear with the clutch out, I have set the RPM in the setpoint map and it now does what I want, I tested it and it now works. Got it set to idle at 1300 rpm today while doing some testing. (Message edited by stimbrell on August 27, 2018) | ||

I use Tunerpro RT V5 and upload the bin files using ecmspy for mono. both are free with the option to pay the developers if you wish. Tunerpro is fully functional in the free version but ecmspy is limited unless you pay but it will upload bin files in the free version however I think you may now be able to do this in Tunerpro, it has been a long time since I installed these programs. I save the file as a .bin in Tunerpro and then go to burn in to ecm in ecmspy and select "all files" from the drop down box IIRC, I will check this tomorrow but pretty sure that is how I do it. I think you can also just leave it as .xpr. (Message edited by stimbrell on September 01, 2018) | ||

With help from Barraspalding I have now realised that to alter the idle once the bike is up to temp you need to change the settings in the centre of the right column as shown here. I have increased the idle slightly from stock on my bike  Also, for those that may not know, when you upload a new map you should do a TPS reset. | ||

Yep, coolant temp in degrees C. Took mine out yesterday to test this and the bike is so much better to ride in traffic without the clutch out rpm rise. |
