I just purchased a 1125 track prepped bike no lights etc first track day on it 3rd session or so I see system voltage towards the end I road another bike for a bit finished day on 1125 last session system voltage again parked bike battery was cooking itself bike has 2010 motor with 1190 kkit on it |

I believe that any modern bike running without lights can have this problem, most race bikes owners swap the shunt regulator for a series regulator to avoid the issue. |

go here...SH847: http://www.roadstercycle.com/ put it out in the air flow...with no lights, there is no "load" on the charging system...all the "extra" electricity is going to the battery and cooks it ....the SH847 will handle the "extra" power but treat it with respect and mount it in the air flow. scroll down on this post for an idea for mounting: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/784960.html?1447282069 |

Ron, You got it wrong with the correct end result. A series regulator switches the stator coils into and out of the circuit as system demand changes. The series regulator does not handle the excess power, it just doesn't accept it. That excess energy remains at the crankshaft. |

Thank you guys I spoke with jack at roadster and ordered the 847 it should be here with enough time to get it on and back on the track Sunday |

Thanks Steve...you are correct...I'm spending too much time fixing friend's track day bikes with fried wire harnesses and shunt type VR's...gotta get those shunt type (VRs) out in the breeeeeeeezzzzze! |
