I did San Diego, CA to Grand Junction, IA with a stop off at Mount Rushmore/Sturgis (2200 miles total) back in 2011. Rough ride, but ultimately a good journey. | ||

Stock 1125R? Ive done a couple of 4+ hour rides, but nothing like what youre doing. Next time I do a longer ride I'll make sure I have the 1" drop pegs on (still in Buell blister pack), and I might have an extra seat that I have modded with a gel insert put in. Any luggage on her? | ||

The longest ride I did was an all day 400+ mile ride from Fresno to Monterey then down Hwy 1 to Cayucus. What a ball buster, correction ass buster. I was riding more long distance back then and I still barely made it. I will not do that ever again. | ||

Thats not a bad ride. Pretty! I go from about LAX to Monterey for the races every year. The group takes the long curvy way though, not much highway but still fast so it's about a 9-10 hour day. The SX loves it! We go north through the giant redwoods before heading south on the return so its a bit longer but well worth it. So blessed down here, I'll go up Angeles Crest highway to Wrightwood and around the mountain about every Saturday. 300-350 miles and home before dark. Last Saturday was rain and blinding fog. Still a big smile on my face  | ||

Note to all interested parties: The 1125 can do off-road/trail sections... as long as the rider is competent and willing to go slow. Take your time and don’t be scared of a little puddle. Aka I went off-roading today. In order to avoid a small mud puddle, I went too fast and tried to ride across the beginning of a MUDDY rut, created by trucks, into the center hard packed section. It didn’t work out for me or Stella. Now I have an 1125. Not 1125r or 1125cr, just 1125. The slip and fall broke the front fairing bracket. I strapped it onto the back of the bike and rode out the last 4 miles of the trail slowly with a bruised ego. I could’ve easily avoided the whole thing had I just went through the stupid little puddle. I escaped uninjured, other than the aforementioned bruise. If you ever get a chance to ride blue ridge parkway do it! If you don’t have knobbies, stay on the paved road. I used rever to plan my route and I should’ve just skipped the turn that was obviously a gravel trail, not road. If you’re using butler maps and are near a G1 road, go out of your way to ride it, you will not be disappointed. When I finger out how to load pics from my iPhone I’ll post them. | ||

Very beautiful ride! These days we would take the slower, twistier route to Monterey and then grab a hotel room. Then take Hwy 1 the following day. Taking the ride midweek is better for less traffic as well and going South puts you on the outside lane for the better viewing. |
