I've been reading through this forum again after finding what seems to be a nice 08 1125r w/ 6k miles for sale. I got the Buell bug again after selling my SuperDuke last fall. I've owned an X1 and a couple XB12's so I'm familiar with some of the typical Buell gremlins. Is there anything specific to the 08 1125r that I should look for when I check out this bike? He said theres an issue with the gas gauge. Is this a common problem? Is there a way to tell if the clutch weep fix has been done? It sounds like the stator issues only affected the 09+ bikes, is that correct? Should I be worried about the lack of parts? They guy selling it is a second hand owner and has been pretty worthless with information on it. I buy and sell quite a bit and know this isn't typically the best sign for buying a good bike, but some of my best bikes have been bought from guys who just liked the bike and knew nothing about it, so I'm checking it out at least. Thanks in advance for any responses, I'm glad to be back scrolling through the forums after a long hiatus. (Message edited by beitzel on May 05, 2018) |

Well, I have a new Buell in the Stable. Some Notes: *Has had a small layover on right hand side. *All damage was fixed except for a scuffed up brake lever and small blemish on the windscreen (fairing) *Clutch cover was definitely replaced. You can tell because the gasket is new and different from any other on the bike. I guess there's no way to know for sure, but I would hope the clutch weep issue was fixed when that was replaced. I'll be swapping all the fluids this weekend. Any suggestions on the low fuel light fix? I tried a search but didn't yield any direct responses. (Probably user error with the search) |
