What mirrors do you have on your 1125R? I am looking to replacing the stock ones, and want some suggestions. |

No mirrors work well on the 1125. All you view is your shoulders and arms. They are down right dangerous. I have tried several aftermarket mirrors as well. The early factory mirrors do not stay in place at speed either. The later 2009 mirrors are better in that respect. The best functioning mirrors are those that extend from the handlebars, but they are more prone to damage than the fairing variety. I keep the late model factory mirrors on for legal and originality reasons only. I rely on a rear view camera, which solves the problem. Mind you, this issue is not just with the 1125. It is common across all sport bikes to some extent. |

Firebolt mirrors work fine, just no turn signals if you use them.

the stock mirrors tend to "grab" too much air at near triple digit speeds- and change their view (even after drilling out the rivet and modifying with a big bolt and nut)...I gave up on them... I use a Emgo mirror designed for a F4 Honda (20-87021 & 87022)...or a (20-87025 & 87026 with led turn signals) still can't see past the elbows but they don't move... I use some small "spot mirrors" from bike master , about the size of a $.50 piece (600209)...moved my turn signals down to the running lights with amber LEDs...hth https://www.denniskirk.com/emgo/black-oem-style-replacement-oval-mirror-20-87021.p391931.prd/391931.sku

I bought a pair of the Firebolt long mirrors from a dealer and received two right hand mirrors so... if anyone in Buell land received the box with two left or anyone has a left to sell or needs a right, give me a shout. |

Just an update, thought I would just check on this and asked a dealer how much it would cost for two left mirrors, got two on the way for about $60.00 so I have two full sets, well pleased! |

Always liked the way the Firebolt mirrors looked on an 1125R. One of these days may give it a try... |

Wow, I wouldn't know where to start. Finding, buying & installing every known mirror known to the 1125R. Kudos to you my friend. |

Harlan, Mirrors on the 1125 remind me of all the bike riders I encountered in Saigon during the war. They were all mounted inward. I guess it was to check on all the bugs they caught in their teeth. As others have said and I have experienced, long stem mirrors vibrate, catch more air and tend to move making rear view vision poor if not impossible. They are vulnerable to impact casual or otherwise and just plain ugly as well. If you haven't tried a rear view camera yet, please try one. It's a completely different world. |

I use CRG lanesplitter bar end mirrors on my cr. I had to get bar-end adapters (rhino is the brand I went with, I think), but am quite happy with the result. The stock vibrated so bad they were worthless, but now they're totally usable. Note:the lanesplitter model folds in, so if you brush past something they won't snap off. |

I've got firebolt mirrors on my 1125r as well, and they work fine. Yeah I have to tuck my elbows to get a better picture as to what is going on behind me, but they don't buzz, look nice and fold in so we'll that I don't have to replace them after a tip over into a wall. Plus they can be had for pretty cheap too. The signals got moved to the running lights in the headlight cell which looks better as well. |

That's the part that kinda makes me pause.. wiring up the running lights (that, and my perfectly good set of stock mirrors) |

Is there any good reason not to install one of the many cheap rear view monitors available on the market? Anyone have good/bad experience with them? Amazon has models with good reviews for as little as $40-$50. Seems like a great way to knock out several birds with one stone. DB |

I ditched the stock mirrors because they didn't offer a decent rear view, and because they vibrated enough to change position. I tried shimming the mirrors in their housing, but it didn't work. Switched to Oberon dual-sided LED bar-end indicators with CRG 2" Hindsight mirrors. The 2" CRGs extend beyond the indicators by about 1/2 inch. The view is clear, I'm not moving around to look past my elbows, and the mounts are adjustable for whatever flexibility you desire. Takes a couple rides to adapt to where to look for a rear view, but having the mirrors at the ends of the bars allows you to set them for a much wider view than the stock units offer. I looked into upgrading to the 3" mirrors. They will work with the Oberon indicators, as CRG used a higher mounting shaft than the 2" mirrors, which allows you to position them so it doesn't interfere with the visibility of the rear LEDs. I also run integral indicators in my taillight, from XB Lights. The Oberons and CRG mirrors weigh a lot less than the stock items, and ditching the stock mirrors improves the airflow around the fairing. Valter Moto alloy mirror block-offs fit well and look good as well. Yes, you have to step up and wire in the Oberon indicators. I passed the wire through the clip-on, out a hole I located and drilled under the stock switchgear, then ran the wire through the stock switchgear sheath. I reconnected the leads near the stock indicator plug, allowing me to unplug the indicators as a pair, or remove one at a time by disconnecting the leads from the stock plug. I like the minimalist look of this setup, and the view to the rear is clear on both sides. |

You can eliminate most of the vibration by putting a bead of black rtv between the mirror and outside plastic. |

I have Firebolt mirrors on my 1125R and my 1190RS. The 1125R had the marker lights next to the headlights and I wired the signals to them. 1190RS had none so I got LED bar-ends and wired them to the signals. I found the OEM mirrors to be great turn signals and horrible mirrors. Z |

Dean, I noticed in the photo that you have removed the paint from your radiators, have you notice lower temps when you ride it hard? And thanks for all the info on the mirrors, everyone. |

I have not run the bike yet, so I don't know how hot it will run. Got side tracked again with other stuff, not sure when I'll get that bike finished. (Message edited by d_adams on February 21, 2018) |

Desert-bird, I have tried several over the years. They are designed for use in cars for parking purposes and are wide view and unstabilized. They are poor over distance and not suitable for bikes. I now have one designed for motorcycles that is brilliant, but are not inexpensive. They are not a legal replacement for mirrors though. The law has yet to catch up with technology. |

When I had my 1125R I removed the stock mirrors and put some bar ends on. I replace the marker lights with orange bulbs and rewired the turn signals to those. |

Not sure about the 1125R, but on my CR I am happy with the CRG Hindsight LS mirrors on the bar-ends. |
