This is pretty much just a vent session Bought this MY10 1125R from NSW, and thought it was going to be a pretty simple task to transfer registration over to south australia. Just a quick ID check and i'll be on my way. Nope. For some reason Buell or their importer here didn't attach any compliance plate to confirm it was built to comply with Australian Design Rules. FK! Have to have the bike put over the pits for a full roadworthy and inspection sometime in the new year. Luckily the only things altered are the tail tidy and the exhaust... i'll refit the original huge tail / number plate holder, but may try my luck with the current exhaust (as i dont have the original). /vent |

When you ride a Buell you ride "A Trail of Tears". |

But, when it's running right, what a joy. Rode down to Big Sur for lunch today, 150 miles round trip. Just grand. Too many tourists to turn it loose. It just burbled along, so fine. |

For anyone who gives a frick... Over the xmas break I did alot of googling... and inbetween the boobs I found many articles about my similar issue locally. Turns out its more likely that the compliance plate was fitted at point of sale, but either 1) it was washed off (pressure washers!) or 2) it was purposefully taken off. Spoke with the original dealership the bike was sold from and he mentioned he would, on average, order 10 compliance plate reissues for HD bikes a month due to people removing the sticker because it looks cool(er) without it. The process for applying is pretty simple, but you do need to take the bike into the store to be sighted, and have them apply the plate/sticker; to ensure no re-birthing/dodgyness is occuring. I'm not too keen to be riding it 16 hours across the country to do this at the original dealership, so will pop into the local HD dealer, who luckily is affiliated with the original dealer. Hopefully can have this resolved in the very near future - only thing will be how long it takes for HD to reissue. |

I have a compliance plate! I hope that its all HD isn't an issue, doesn't mention Buell anywhere. |
