I want to ensure I post to the right forum, so forgive me if I have a duplicate post. I have a 2009 1125cr, a wonderful bike. The old battery seemed tired, so I bought a new battery. It has a lot of power, but when I try to start the bike, that's my issue. The fuel pump kicks on, the headlights, everything, but it won't spin. I checked all the fuses, they're fine. My starter relay just clicks. I thought that the contacts might be dirty, but I was meticulous putting it together, it's all clean. So I'm confused, why the battery died and now not enough power to spin. I have a diag error of U0001, ECM error, so that's no help. I'm getting a multitester this weekend, so what does anyone suggest I do to remedy, other than taking it to a Shop? Any suggestions are appreciated |

Check the ignition wire thread, it may be a good place to start as mine exhibited the same issue... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/817130.html?1511582884 |

Did you (or the shop) trickle charge the battery overnight?...sometimes batteries are "dry charged" and the shop just adds the electrolyte (acid) but doesn't charge the battery to give it the "amps" needed to turn the starter over...yes it will have 12VDC, but if you have a voltmeter, connect it to the battery on your bike...hit the starter and see what the voltage drops down to...if under under 10VDC...you may not have enough amps to get things moving...charge it overnight and try it again...hth |

Yes I did. In fact, I ordered a brand new battery from NAPA, it read right at 13volts. The old battery was at 12, and I told the guy, since I bought the bike in August, I'd rather just have a new battery. I'm going to Sears tomorrow with the wife to buy a multitester, so I can chase things down better. I've only ridden the bike once, but the center of gravity is really low, it handles very well, and acceleration is fierce. |
