Had my 1125cr (2009) die on me a few miles from home today. The '0087 FUEL PR' error is what it showed. It was low on gas too (but light wasn't on). After reading some posts here, I added gas, switched back to the factory ECM, & charged my battery. This worked! I got home (was originally able to park and find a ride home). Once home, I then switched back to my race/Barker ECM. It still runs fine (put ~15 miles on it), but scared to drive it further than I am willing to walk home. Reading around a bit, I fear it is my pump. Am I ok? Can't believe it was just low fuel (as it would start and then stall after a few seconds). Reading around a bit, I fear it is my pump, but can't see how changing things would temporarily fix things (unless more gas allows the pressure to raise enough to overcome a faulty pump for a bit). If it is the pump, any suggested purchasing websites? Any tests that one can do without a diagnostic tester? | ||

Are you sure your low fuel light works? If you run out of gas, you will get the low pressure error, as it can't pressurize what ain't there. I've been in the unfortunate situation of having the LFL not work right, resulting in me pushing. | ||

Thanks for quick reply etc. It works or it was working (know for certain that it turned on a tank or 2 ago). But guess it could have stopped working since in between (stranger things have happened). Would it be able to restart (4-5x) after stalling if it were the fuel level? | ||

Your issue is not uncommon with these bikes. It happened to me when the bike was two weeks old. The fuel level system is notorious for inaccuracy and other failures. I doubt it is your fuel pump, but the addition of a permanent fuel pressure gauge is the right answer and easy to do. |
