I stopped by the former EBR dealer in town today, as I found they still have a 2014 1190 RX in stock. They are still asking $11K for it, but I thought I'd stop and see what they would give me for my '07 Dyna Super Glide, well equipped with extras. Waste of time...they offered $3500. Low wholesale for a basic Super Glide that came with a solo seat, virtually no chrome,...and has about $4K worth of extras added. I know the extras aren't worth what they cost new, but they should be worth 30% of it, as long as they are in good condition... I guess they're not in any hurry to move it. They also sort of hemmed and hawed when I brought up the subject of a warranty. They didn't come right out and say it was covered, but they didn't say it wasn't either. | ||

I am looking at an RX at the moment and from what I understand only warranties on the 2016 and 2017 bikes are being honored. In my case the dealer pre registered the bike so the warranty is already ticking and the model year and date of registration may be the deal breaker. If it is not a 16 or 17 I will not be buying it. | ||

Why would he pre-register the bike? Was he using it as a demo? Has it been titled? | ||

Make sure you check it out thoroughly, including a ride. I know the feeling though...after I rode my CR the first time, it was the first time ever on a sport bike, and I was totally in love by the time I got back. The owner was getting nervous...I was gone a while. It didn't seem like it though. There's a low mileage used RX not too far away. The price seems reasonable. I might go take a look at that. |
