I heard there was a thread on this, but the search feature is rough at best - can someone direct me to the person who put 1190 (or people) front-facing radiators and oil cooler on their 1125? I am really interested in mounting of them Any part numbers would be a huge help Or factory parts catalog pictures etc Thanks yall |

Huge nightmare. Make sure your fabrication skills are up to snuff. Channing Kraemer stuffed a bunch of 1190 internals into an 1125, lots of other stuff as well. I think it took most of a year to make it work and be able to ride it. |

The problem is easy to understand. The frame is too short to correctly position radiators in front of the motor. There is inadequate space between the front of the motor and the front wheel. |

Wouldnt be in an 1125 frame. |

And how much different was the 1190 (not RX or SX) frame vs the 1125? |

The problem, if it is a problem, was Erik's emphasis on mass centralization. This has caused a very low frontal clearance between front wheel and engine on all his designs. So, placing the radiator in the conventional location will force a front wheel move forward. The question to be answered is just how much will this change detract from the Buell's ability to rapidly change direction? I think it is anybody's guess. Personally, I dislike the over the front wheel riding position. I mean that I have gotten used to it, but it does put me off a bit, but to each his own. I observe that other designs from other manufacturers seem to also handle pretty well. I am thinking that simply moving the head bearing boss forward just enough, without changing Erik's rake or trail would have very low impact on the bikes handling. You may have also noted the difficulty to tuck under the wind because of the constricted space between the handlebars and seat. This constriction would also be eased by my proposed change. |

Also requires a different front header that runs straight down between the rads. |

Thanks 99, I knew that it had a different front header, but havent gotten that far in planning yet lol With this parts/project bike I bought I figured I could use the stock headers to have one built for it |

You could probably sell the 1125 and buy a used 1190 and be money ahead not to mention have a more dependable bike with better electronics, fuelling, ergonomics, etc. |

@Figorvonbuellingham I know that has gone through my mind a thousand times. |

Converting my 1125 to 1190 radiators has been my project for a few years now. I have all the parts just not the time. I have just about everything mocked up at the moment, I would like to finish this project this year. I have a lot more pictures and a whole parts list on an excel spreadsheet. I apologize for the slight tread jack it was not my intention.

No but a couple have put 1125 wheels on an 1190. The 1125 Wheels look better. (Message edited by terrys1980 on June 02, 2017) |

The 1125 Wheels look better. I respectfully disagree...about the front anyway. I think the 1190 front wheel is sexy as hell. The rear - not so much. } |

I think the 1190 front wheel is sexy as hell. AGREED! Compared to the 1190 front wheel, the 1125 (and XB, lest we forget) front wheel looks like an antique. Not a fan of the 1190 (RX/SX) rear either, but the 1190 front is HOT! |

You guys are nuts. I think the 1190 rear wheel is way better looking than the 1125 wheels. |
